Free multiplayer games litter the web, but which ones are worth your time. I will have a list in no particular order of some of the most fun you can have on the web. Of course just sticking to online multiplayer games is a huge genre. There are FPS, RTS, RPG, MMO, MMORPG, Action, Plat former, 2D, 3D. There are free games for all of the above, I will try to get at least one worth checking out game for each of these categories below. This will help you to make the correct decision that I now is on everyone's mind. "What game should me and my friends play?" I know how it is you want to play with your friends, also against them at times right? Something that is just fun. Keep reading and you are bound to find something that you will like.

Battlefield Heroes is an amazingly fun game made completely free thanks to EA Games! Of course it is made by the creators of the EPIC Battlefield games that are worth checking out also but those you have to buy the game. This one however they have outdone themselves making it free to download and play forever. This game makes its money from in game advertising (It does NOT install spyware in anyway shape or form the advertisements are served by the main server.) There is also a cash shop which from my experience doesn't affect other players in any way by offering overpowered weapons that anyone that uses real money gets an advantage or everyone else. They offer mainly cosmetic upgrade and the best part is that you don't have to lease the items for a week or so like most cash shop games. You can purchase them for good and keep them for your character forever! There is also some experience boosters and money boosters that don't affect anyone but yourself and are really worth how cheap they sell these items if you like the game a lot.

The gameplay sorta like the traditional Battlefield games, with an assortment of different gametypes. However it is different because its in third person. This is a large improvement in my opinion it just feels right. You gain levels and obtain more skill points so you can improve your skills and fight better in future games. This is addicting due to the promised improvements and ideas for the game in the near future. This game was released not that long ago so it will take some time before it gets to a point that they are happy with it. Along with this there are some bugs and affect people from playing it that are fairly easily fixable.

Some of the issues that people have with this game is a problem with joining games, it will give you a failure message then take entirely too long to attempt to connect to another game. This is fixed by changing your game options to Infantry only games, then going back to the character selection screen and trying again. You may need to repeat this step 2 or 3 times in order for it to stick and work properly but this fixed it for me. There is also a problem for a couple people staying connected to games. Not a latency issue but Punkbuster kicking people randomly. This is fixed by updating Punkbuster manually. You can do that by going here and updating it manually. Make sure to read their instructions and placing the files exactly where they tell you to. If any of these don't work for you or there is another issue please leave a quick comment and I will attempt to assist you in fixing it.

Overall I have high hopes for this game as it is amazing and if they do have of what they are capable with this game it will rule the F2P market! Don't let the small bugs that they have now prevent you from playing it. You are able to join games with your friends and play on their same team so its great for you and your friends!

This is one of the revolutionary MMORPG games that you have to check out if you like MMO's. This is an entirely turn based game, comparable to Final Fantasy games. Of course it being an MMO there is some fast paced action in the game but its still technically turn based. The whole world is based off of our world currently featuring Europe, and Asia. You obtain quite a few body guards that are technically NPCs that you control who will assist you as you fight throughout your journeys. One of the main aspects that intrigue me about this game is the arena. You can watch and bet on people that fight against each other for prestige! This is a great way to blow all of your hard earned money, but this isn't the main focus of course. Raising your characters and having a strategic party formation is key to surviving later on in the game and more success for gaining quick levels. A key tip is to experiment with some of the different class combos. Some characters can perform combo attacks and assist each other which is what you want for some of the more powerful creatures.

They are coming out with content very quickly for this game so look out for their new features, im sure there will be some great changes in the near future. They seem to have the player in mind when they come out with content updates. What people ask for on the forums is seriously considered with this company which is unheard of for free games.

All in all this is most definitely worth checking for MMO fans and Final Fantasy fans alike. Its pretty unique for the MMO genre and still developing new content like crazy so there is always something new to do and conquer!

Battle Forge is one of the best free to play RTS games. Although it being free to play there are tons of necessary upgrades that you will need to purchase if you want to progress very far at all. Although this is a huge downfall in my opinion it still is worth checking out for RTS fans. The graphics are amazing in my opinion. The graphics are so crisp and clean. The amount of detail they put into the creatures is amazing! There are plenty of single player missions to keep you busy also which I think is great fun. That matched with their game play modes for multiplayer combat keeps this game fresh for quite a while.

What sets this game aside from the others however is that you create a deck of 20 cards. These cards are really what you fight with. You don't focus on building anything or taking care of your towns economy. You just use your troops that you are given strategically to destroy your opponent.
