Music Festival USA
A few musicians concentrate their efforts in California. The Stagecoach Musical Festival is a favorite... the last 3 day event was in May of 2008 and it featured The Eagles, John Fogerty, Earl Scruggs, and many of the up and coming stars of country music. Big State Festival - Sponsored by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Foundation...it's scheduled for September 2008 in Frisco, Texas. No word on the exact date... bigstatefestival.com
Country Jam / Rock Jam - The country jam has the local health officials upset because the number of reported pregnancies skyrocket within six weeks after a concert. Next event, September 5-6, 2008 Grand Junction, Colorado.... countryjam.com
Austin City Limits - A favorite PBS (Public Broadcasting System) show, this event is presented every September outside of Austin, Texas. Trademark: "Live Music Capital of the World".
Note: Ticket sales at Austin City Limits have been reduced due to the complaints about overcrowding

Check out my idea for the best festival ever!!! Woodstock 2009:
Jesus, the owner of woodstock.com needs to get on the ball! August 15, 2009 is only one year away...
Gathering of the Vibes is a good festival that attracts some big names. Its not as well known or big as bonnaroo but you wont be dissapointed if you go.
Thanks Kyle... I've added this one below (Updated information -2009).
Woodstock was the "goodest" ever festival. Got my fist look at Santana, the Who, Country Joe McDonald, Riche Havens ...
The known stars being Sly & the Family Stone, Joe Cocker, Joan Baez, ... wow!
:)
Quicksand, thanks for the comments. Hard to believe Woodstock was almost 40 years ago.
40 years! I saw the doccumentary, Robert, and later on I had an LP. You probably saw it live! :)
Updated USA Music Festival Information for 2009
A new submission from Kyle... Gathering of the Vibes, July 23-26, 2009. Seaside Park, Bridgeport, CT.
History: Started in 1996 as a memorial to Jerry Garcia, the lead singer of the Grateful Dead. After Jerry's death in 1995, folks wanted to fill a void. Originally named "Deadhead Heaven - A Gathering of the Tribe", the name was shortened to Gathering of the Vibes.
