Buying quality digital cameras can be bit confusing since there are numerous makes and models. Technology development has given us the choice of purchasing a small lightweight digital camera for family prints or a camera that takes photos which will be suitable for framing.

If you are interested in buying digital cameras you will find a selection of compact digital camera reviews at affordable prices. The cameras listed below have received top ratings from Consumer Reports. A few of the models include Canon, Casio, Fujifilm, Pentax, Kodak and Olympus to name a few. I have selected an assortment of digital cameras based upon their affordability, image stability, megapixels, zoom lenses and point-and-shoot features.

Canon PowerShots

PowerShots are another name for compact Canon cameras. These cameras are priced moderately and offer an array of options. The price will differ based upon shutter speeds, diverse view screen, megapixels, image stabilization, focal lengths and different zoom levels. Canons selection of lenses makes this the brand of choice for users interested in continuity and reliability

Casio

Casio manufactures ultra slim subcompacts. There thinnest Exilims are the S series, followed by the thicker Z series. Do not mistake their slim size for functionality. These cameras have the same properties as your thicker compact cameras with high pixel count, zoom functionality and LCD monitors. There thin form camera can slip into a small area and ready to use at moments notice.

Fujifilm

Fujifilm started in the photographic film, but in 2007 the company transited into the digital camera arena and their cameras are ranked eighth worldwide in number of cameras it produces. Fujifilm’s cameras are targeted for beginning photographers but they also offer digital cameras for intermediate photographers and professionals. They offer a slim 1 inch camera body and very affordable priced.

Pentax

Pentax has been in technology industry for over 90 years. They produce durable and reliable cameras that have always met the needs of consumers . Pentax has developed a W Series which includes compacts that are waterproof and can be taken underwater. This feature is perfect for the next underwater adventure where you will be able to capture those amazing memories.

Kodak

Kodak’s EasyShare main focus is the ease of use. This camera has the ability to automatically select the specialty modes and their budget C model includes some of the most inexpensive compacts available on the market today. Their V model offers some of the most innovative point and shoot features including Bluetooth wireless and dual-lens/dual sensor designs.

Olympus

Olympus FE series emphasize simple operation and have built in digital camera help guides. They have recently developed some innovative technologies relating to point and shoot where the use slightly higher priced xD memory cards. Their subcompact series are water resistant, waterproof, shockproof and crushproof. This feature allows any family members to be comfortable when handling this camera.
