Lucky are the ones who have been bestowed the gift of humo(u)r. If laughter is the best medicine then comedians must be the least in need of medical insurance.

"What makes people laugh?", is one question that's definitely worth a gazillion answers. In general people may say: bloopers, satire, irony, parody, pranks, clowns... But, are they always funny?

I, for one love comedy, but can I tell a joke and make somebody laugh? I would say, barely.

It is for this reason that I extend kudos to comedians, for it is not an easy feat to make people laugh, yet they are able to do it...and better yet, earn a living of it. Talk about having the best job in the world, eh?

Now, one thing I love about the internet is how easy it is to access entertainment after a hard day's work. How easy it is to get some laughs and relax by watching comedians perform without having to spend so much for tickets and without having to give up the comfort of the couch or the bed. Thanks to the Internet it is so easy to discover and enjoy shows from comedians around the world. Of course, it would be great if I could go see the live shows, but, in a recession, I'd rather opt for "free", thank you.

One cliché relating to comedy, that the internet has helped to prove to be true is the saying, "Laugh and the whole world laughs with you". Since the internet is so accessible around the world, it is not uncommon for video comedy clips to gain millions of views from every inhabited corner of the planet. It is but natural for somebody to click the "share" button, or copy and paste the url link onto the body of an email and click "send".

True, we usually run away from anything that's said to be contagious, but when it comes to laughter, I'm sure you'll agree, the more we want of it.
