Top Ten Chocolate Candy Bars
73
Chocolates have been loved the world over and most if not all have been in favorite chocolate bar form. There are several chocolate companies worldwide but those that belong in the top 10 favorite chocolates in the United States include the Hershey bar, Oh Henry, M&Ms, Baby Ruth, 3 Musketeers, Milky Way, Butterfinger, Kit Kat, Reese's Peanut Butter Cups, and Snickers. These chocolates have been in the market as early as the 1900s. The sustaining power of the top 10 chocolates in the United States was brought about by each company's vision and mission to be the best chocolate company there is. This also includes the satisfaction that they give to every chocolate lover.
The top 10 chocolates in the United States have been in this ranking for several years now. Each chocolate candy just rises and falls from the list according to the present taste of chocoholics. However, to stay on the list each company had to create variations from their popular products. Chocolate lovers may tend to choose new concoctions and varieties from other chocolate companies whether in the United States or internationally. To hold on to the position as one of the top 10 chocolates in the United States, several of these companies came up with different gimmicks and limited offerings.
And The Winners Are:
- Number 10 is the Hershey bar which is considered to be "The Great American Chocolate Bar" because it is one of the oldest American chocolate bars that can still be bought and eaten today. Milton S. Hershey of Lancaster, PA produced the Hershey bar as well as Hershey's Milk Chocolate Kisses.
- Oh Henry, at number 9, is a chocolate bar made with peanuts, caramel, fudge covered with chocolate. Williamson Candy Company created this in 1921 and named it after a boy that regularly visits their store.
- At number 8 is M&Ms which is short for M&Ms Plain Chocolate that was introduced to the market by M&M Mars. This chocolate was made due to low sales during the summer of 1941.
- Baby Ruth at Number 7 was introduced in 1920 and named after the daughter of President Grover Cleveland (not the baseball player "Babe Ruth" as many mistake).
- Number 6 is 3 Musketeers from M&Ms Mars which came in 1932 and is made of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry nougat.
- Number 5 is Milky Way which was introduced in 1923 by the Mars family. This chocolate tastes like malted milk.
- Next on the list, at number 4 is the Butterfinger which is made of butter and peanut butter concoction covered with chocolate. It was introduced in the 1923 by the Curtiss Candy Company of Chicago.
- Number 3 on the list is Kit Kat which came into the chocolate world in 1935. It used to be known as Rowntree's Chocolate Crisp from the UK and is made of several thin bars of wafer covered with chocolate.
- Taking the spot at number 2 is Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. This best-selling candy has been around since 1928.
- And the number 1 chocolate on the list of top 10 chocolates in the United States is Snickers. This is the best-selling chocolate bar of all time and was introduced by M&Ms Mars in 1930. It was named after the Mars family's much loved horse.
