Annabelle's Wish
A poor family struggles to raise the grandson after his was orphaned as a young child and was left mute due to a horrific fire. On Christmas Eve a beautiful little calf is born and Santa decides to leave her as a gift.Santa also decides to leave all of the animals a gift, which is the gift of talk in which they can do this once a year on Christmas. The little calf "Annabelle" decides to put on her best attitiude as she has a wish for Santa and believes that if she is good that Santa will make her a reindeer for on Christmas. Needless to say things begin to happen at home and instead of Annabelle asking Santa for her wish, she in turns asks Santa to give the young boy her voice.
Years into the future the young boy grows up and Annabelle finally gets her wish. This is such a touching and heartfelt story that it will bring tears to your eyes and gives you the true meaning of Christmas.
Dr. Seuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas
" You're a mean one Mr. Grinch" we all remember the first few words of that wonderful and original cartoon that portrays a very mean thing into becoming such a kind and caring thing. The kookiness captures the unbridled spirit if the holiday season and children of all generations will enjoy this original cartoon. It has also been re-made and is as kooky, so either way it is wonderful for the holiday season.
Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
Burl Ives is wonderful in this traditional cartoon that all of us have grown to love and adore for many generations. This animated claymation captures the eyes and hearts of millions every holiday season. Rudolph and the elf who are outcasts somehow manage to find a way to fit in and Gad Zuke who is the abdominable snowman also steals the hearts of many. I find this to be an absolute classic and have it ready for the holiday season every year.
Frosty the Snowman
A magical top hat that is discarded by a magician and miraculously blows away and ends up bringing the snowman to life, was a well written script during that era and captures the imagination of children as they are on the edge of the seat wondering if the mean magician is going to let Frosty keep the top hat or if he is going to snatch it back, of course nobody ever wanted " Frosty" to melt away now did they?
A Charlie Brown Christmas
If you loved Charlie Brown as a child, then this is one you have to have in your collection. Imagine Charlie Brown trying to undertake the position of running a play and the shenanigans that encircle this story. If you haven't seen this one in years, go to your local video store and request it, as it may bring back some memories for you when you were a child, and grab the child within.
A Muppet Christmas Carol
My sister is now a grown woman and a mother herself however as a child and until this day, she still has her children watch this every holiday season. Fozzy is a brilliant fezzywig, and Kermit and Miss Piggy as well as the other adorable muppets are lovely and touching in this wonderful spin of the Charles Dickens classic " A Christmas Carol" so if your children love muppets or have never been introduced and the need there imagiination stirred , this is a check it out video.
Miracle on 34th Street
How much more proof do we need that Santa Claus really does exist? I love the original myself but the new version is just as warm and enlightening. Just add an ornery child and a handful of joy and you have it, a movie that will stir the minds of children to believe that there really is a Santa.
It's A Wonderful Life
Number one on most lists, it is a tie between sentimental and fun. There is nothing like going into the past during the holiday season to really understand the meaning of Christmas. So if your eyes don't well up when Clarence gets his wings or yourheart doesn't break for George Bailey then you need to re evaluate the true meaning of the holiday season as this is one that I watch every year in its entirety and reminds me of what Christmas really is.
White Christmas
Written in 1954 and a absolute classic adults of all ages have enjoyed this post war story of new beginnings, show business and travel and of course , you guessed it snow!!! This was a peaceful time in which a gentleman was a gentleman and people helped one another. Romantic and fun, this is a cozy one as you snuggle up on the couch after wrapping presents, cuddling with the one you love or simply loving yourself and being thankful for the holiday season. Thumbs up for me especially when you have the holiday blues.
Deck the Halls
Centered arpund two New England families who go to war and one of them tries to decorate there home with some many Christmas Lights that you could see it from space. The neighborhood is ripped a part at the seams as they try to discover the true meaning of Christmas. Written and released in 2006 this movie is and has become another classic for our new generation.

thomasrosquin, I love those movies too and National Lampoon's is hilarious!!!:)
nice list!
Mezo, Thanks we just watched a couple of these yesterday :)
Nice list! I always look forward to these titles coming on TV every year. Even though my childhood is long behind me it gives me a little taste of what Christmas was like during those years. One other you might want to take a look at is "Emmett Otter's Jugband Christmas". It's an old Muppett-era Jim Henson movie, and will probably be hard to find, but it's really cute.
Wuksachi Staff: I will defintiely check that one out and if you get a chance on Hallmark they are still airing "Christmas Shoes" with Rob Lowe it is a must see and will touch your heart. :)
I love the movie ELF with Will Ferrell.
Adam B: That is a hilarious movie and we enjoy that one as well. Merry Christmas!!
