Top Ten TV Sit-Coms
82I liked them. I love them. I wanted more of them.
This list is going to be incredibly biased. As a 26-year-old California female with a penchant for things sarcastic and love stories, I can only give you what I think are the best sit-coms. So sit back, and get ready to get offended! (These are in no particular order).
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air
I didn't even know Bel Air was a real place when I was a kid, let alone have any idea where Philly was except for somewhere on the East coast. But I did know that Will Smith was hilarious. I'm so excited that one of my favorite memories of all time, which happens to be from that show, is on YouTube:

Three's Company
I was too young to watch this show even when it was in syndication. I had no idea until I was a teenager that the joke was that Jack was supposed to be gay. I thought he was just silly. My mom banned me from watching this show, but I somehow found a different time slot when it was showing so I could continue being confused by the premise.
I Love Lucy
I have to say that this show is still funny, even with seventy-five percent of the references being archaic. And it is fascinating to watch, seeing how the two couples interact with one another, and the wholly un-relatable concept of being afraid of one's husband.
Full House
I'm sure that if I watched that show now I would be thoroughly horrified at how bad the show is. Even my memories of that show tell me that it was bad in a lot of ways. But it was wholesome, contained enough comedy to bolster it through those twenty-two minutes, and the middle sister was the same age as me when the show started, so I had to love it.
Family Matters
I know everyone loves Urkel for his nerdy ways. I never really figured out what he saw in Laura. Maybe that show can take some credit for the fact that I'm perfectly fine with disappointments and rejection in life. I related to Urkel. Plus, I really wanted that car he had, that opened from the front.
Friends
Dear Lord, this show was on forever. I wasn't particularly interested in it until Chandler and Monica got together. Even though much of it was ridiculous, you have to admit that they covered almost every aspect in life. There is very little that comes up that I can't refer back to "Friends" for advice on.
Will & Grace
I appreciate this show on the level that it had main gay characters. I dislike how over the top Jack could be, adding on more and more to stereotypes already in existence. But when this show was really silly, that's when it was at its best. One of my favorite lines of all time comes from an episode where Grace is having trouble designing something. Will brings her coffee, but finds that she's been eating chocolate covered cappuccino beans to get ideas. "Are they helping?" he asks. "No," she answers, crazed, "but now I'm hating myself really fast!"
Saved by the Bell
I watched an early episode of this recently. Not one of the ones with that kick-ass female teacher, but still pretty early, before Zack and Kelly got together. Zack was for sure one of my first crushes. I've had a thing for blondes every since. But watching the episode (which was cringingly bad) I realized why I used to think feminists were bitches. Thank you, Jesse. But this doesn't change my fond memories of discovering what high school would be like.
3rd Rock from the Sun
This show was highly underappreciated, but I was thankful it was kept on the air for so long. My mom and I loved this show together, and I enjoyed the chance to share television (which was largely my domain) with her. Jonathan Lithgow is so smart, and watching him be a pompous ass is wonderful experience. And I had a crush on Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
Scrubs
Scrubs is my favorite show, maybe of all time, although factoring in The Simpsons . . . anyway, I love it. I don't care if everyone in Hollywood thinks Zach Braff is a jerk, I think he's super cute and very funny. The physical comedy in that show is my favorite part, although the ridiculously silly fantasies are also endearing. I can't wait ‘til it comes back in January for its last hurrah!
Drooooolllll . . .

Yeah, Third Rock was underrated, and Will Smith has been hilarious for a long time. He continues to be one of my favorite actors.
I am really getthing into George Lopez show these days, but Fresh Prince is a classic!!! What about all of the Nikolodeon shows from the 90's? it's not fair to leave them out- Hey Dude, Salute Your Shorts, You Can't do that on Television, Rug Rats and Ren & Stimpy? And The Simpsons, and Family Guy- classics.

will and grace...i love jack and Karen best...they are all OTT but thats what makes them great! Karen especially ..." its funy cos its true" or jacks interaction with Cher!! priceless
loved fresh prince too...still do
This hub pretty much sums up my childhood. Nice to reminisce : ). As much as I get guilty pleasure out of my reality TV, and am addicted to TV dramas, there's just something so comforting about the concept of a show where 90% of the action occurs in the kitchen and the living room, and the producers have gone to the trouble of reminding me when I should be laughing.
Here's a vote for "That Seventies Show." Gotta love the characters and the allusions to "smoke outs."
I loved 3rd Rock and I still watch Scrubs reruns, but two of my current favorite reruns are Frasier and Malcolm in the Middle. One of my new faves is Old Christine. It's just too disturbing not to be appreciated!
Kosmo, I agree, That 70s Show was fun!
