Powered by a 1.3-litre engine the car is available in both petrol and diesel version. The petrol version comes with output of 87 bhp and the diesel variant gives 75 bhp. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, Maruti Suzuki Swift is available in five versions: LXi, VXi, ZXi (petrol), and LDi and VDi (diesel).
With its elegant and sporty design the car is definitely a winner who is a part of the increasing Maruti Suzuki’s sales figure.
Tata Indica V2
Tata Indica V2 has made
impressive sales especially in the taxi segment. The car was a great hit across
India. Designed with the inputs from a Italian design firm, the car was sold in
1,11,256 units in FY 2009 (April-March).
The car is available in both petrol and diesel version. The base variant of V2 is supported by two variants: DLE and DLS, Turbo has three variants- DLG, DLX, and DLS, DiCOR offers two variants - DLG and DLS and Indica petrol version Xeta has seven variants viz. V2 Xeta GL, GLE, GLS, GLG, GLX and the two LPG variants GLE LPG and GLS LPG. All the variants get 5-speed transmission as standard. The exterior is well designed and the interior is spacious too.
Hyundai Santro Xing
Hyundai Santro-the most popular model from Hyundai’s product line. The flagship has made record sales. Though the car is still in great demand, it popularity has seen as little dip after the launch of i10 from Hyundai. The car made a sale of 91,478 in the 2009 financial year. The sales figure would have been more but i10 too shared the sales figure.
The Hyundai Santro Xing comes in nine variants - XK non-AC, XK non-AC with CNG, GL, GL CNG, GLS, GLS CNG, GLS AT, GL LPG Eco, and GLS LPG Eco. The transmission comes with a choice of a 5-speed manual transmission and a four speed automatic transmission. The engine is powered by a 1.1-litre engine with delivers 62 bhp. The exterior of the car is elegantly designed and the same is carried the interior too.
