Total Gym GTS

You don’t have to look very hard to find infomercials. One of the most successful infomercials that has run for over 10 years features Christie Brinkley and Chuck Norris promoting the Total Gym GTS systems. Unlike some infomercials that hard sell false or badly made products, the Total Gym GTS is a legitimate and respected entry in the home exercise machine market. In fact, it is so well respected that over 7000 fitness centers, hospitals and rehabilitation clinics use the Total Gym GTS system. That is an impressive reference.

The reason that the Total Gym GTS works so well is that it is designed to isolate each muscle group. The exercise programs use resistance training with a bench that inclines and declines. The more intense the angle, the more work the user has to put into the workout which of course is a better workout. That means that the Total Gym GTS is a good choice for general exercise and fitness programs. But some athletes who want to focus on intense weight training or aerobic exercise benefit form other exercise resources.

For the average home exercise set up, the Total Gym GTS is a great general exercise machine for the whole family. With one unit, you have the resources to do strength training or work on flexibility or even aerobic endurance and all in one unit that is easy to access at home.

The infomercials do a good job of showing you the value that the Total Gym GTS system has to offer. But you do have to be careful if you call to order the machine from the infomercial 800 number. They will do all they can to sell you a more expensive model from the Total Gym line. So know what you need before you call and then stick to your guns. It could be that a better option would be to find a supplier in town where you can look at, touch and maybe even try out the Total Gym GTS system before you buy. Not only do you patronize a local merchant, you skip the shipping charges that are part of ordering something over the phone. Also by buying locally, you have a local contact for support or repairs if they are needed. It isn't hard to find a local retailer who carries the Total Gym GTS and other models of the product line. They can even be found at chain stores like Sears and Wal-Mart.

Its smart to be careful how you buy your Total Gym GTS system. Buying directly from the infomercial means you not only pay shipping but the advertising costs of that infomercial that have to be recovered. There are also generic versions of the Total Gym GTS that offer much of the functionality as the name brand version without the brand name. You can find them on Amazon or by using Google to locate lower priced alternatives to the Total Gym GTS that offer as much for the money.

The weight of the Total Gym GTS can make the unit a bit difficult to move about. The unit is designed to be folded up for storage so you don’t have to devote a room to it all the time. But the set up and folding up of the Total Gym GTS is not easy so you may find that you will want to leave it up and ready to use except where you want it out of way like when guests come to stay.

The infomercials would have you think that working out on the Total Gym GTS is all about having fun and in doing so you become a trim and muscular person. But working out on the unit is still working out. It will be hard sometimes and you will be sore. Because you are working out at home and repetition is the heart of exercise, boredom can be a problem. But if you plan for that and provide music or TV so you can get your workouts in on schedule on your Total Gym GTS, you can achieve your fitness goals working out in the comfort of your own home.
