TracFone currently has a deal that it is offering new or returning customers.  For $24.99, customers can get a Motorola C139 handset with the addition of double minutes for life.

TracFone is a prepaid wireless carrier, so customers don't have to sign contracts, undergo credit checks, or "qualify" in any way.  Furthermore, there are no commitments when you sign up for the prepaid service.

The company is a "value" provider, which means that you can get really good deals on talk time if you fit into the type of cell phone user that fits into the prepaid mold.  In other words, if you're looking for a high-tech smartphone with cool apps and a hot looking touch screen, then you're most likely not going to be a prepaid sort of customer.

But, if you are looking for a very cheap alternative for your mobile phone use, TracFone may just fit the bill.

The Motorola C139 is a very basic cell phone, but gets the job done. For people who don't need to have an advanced cell phone, this will work perfectly. It's small, fits well in the palm of the hand, and is designed for ease of use. The keyboard is well-spaced out and facilitates easy communication.

Double Minutes for Life, which comes as a free bonus with this TracFone deal, usually retails for $49.99, so there is a good value play here. DMFL is exactly what you think it is. For every minute of talk time you purchase, you get one free.

Buy a 60 minute refill, you get 60 minutes free for a total of 120. If you are going to use a TracFone prepaid phone plan, you always want to get the double minutes for life add-on. It just make sense and will pay for itself very quickly.

If you are just now looking for a plan, try to find one that includes DMFL as a bonus. TracFone has some really good deals, so do some research and find one that works for you and saves you money every month.

Unlimited Prepaid Plan from TracFone

You may also be interested in learning more about TracFone's Unlimited prepaid plan that goes under the name Straight Talk. It's a great plan for those who use their phone often or who pay any kind of overage charges since it provides unlimited use of the phone for calls, text messaging, web browsing, and information calls. It is also affordable at $45 per month.

There is also a cheaper plan that goes for $30 for 1K minutes of talk time and the same number of text messages. Pretty great deal. The phones that work on the plan are very affordable as well.

We are going to dump our T-Mobile service when the contract runs out. We are never going to need all of the features that are available. Something like this Tracfone would be great for us and this sounds like a good deal. I wish our contract ran out now. Thanks for the info.

Pete,

TracFone seems to be one of the strongest brands out there for good priced prepaid plans. If you don't do much other than talk or text, then it may be a good deal for you.

You might also be interested in the Straight Talk plans from TracFone. One of them is an unlimited plan for $45, with unlim minutes, talk time, and web browsing. It seems to be a very good deal.

The second costs $30 and is good for 1,000 minutes and 1,000 text, as well as ample web browsing.

You seem to be on top of it, but the thing I tell people to do is look at their cell phone bills from the previous year and look for the patterns of minutes used, text used, how often you use your phone out of town, etc. For me, since I don't really pay attention, I have to go back and do this.

Then, it's a matter of finding the right plan that fits your situation.
