Tracfone Prepaid Phones
71Tracfone Drops it Like its Hot
Tracfone prepaid is one of the best prepaid wireless providers around. With 12 million U.S. subscribers, Tracfone has the largest prepaid subscriber base in the country.
And it looks like the affordable wireless company has no plans to stop there. With the release ofits new brand, Straight Talk, Tracfone wants even more subscribers to sign up with them. Straight Talk is comprised of two cell phone plans.
One is the Tracfone $45 unlimited prepaid plan that includes pretty much what the name says: unlimited talk time and unlimited text messages.
The other is an even cheaper plan, at $30, which comes with 1,000 anytime minutes and 1,000 text messages per month.
As you can tell Tracfone prepaid phones is being aggressive in courting new business. It's a good thing to since more competition means better deals for customers.
Unlimited Prepaid Plans
There have been a few prepaid unlimited wireless plans released lately. Part of the reason this has occurred is because more people are beginning to look at prepaid as a viable way to communicate via cell phone. No longer is there a stigma attached to prepaid cell phones.
In the past, prepaid wireless was seen as only for those individuals who don't qualify for contract plans. Now, this point of view is a complete and total joke. If you want to save money on your cell phone bill, it is now sometimes smart to switch to a prepaid cell phone plan.
I say "sometimes" because it only makes sense to switch to a prepaid cell phone provider, like Tracfone prepaid, if it will save you money and if the plan is convenient for you.
Let's be honest, a lot of the decision in cell phone buying is based on two things: how much it costs, and how cool the phone is. Although it is getting better, traditionally, prepaid plans have not offered the coolest cell phones around.
However, prepaid phones from Tracfone offer affordability, which is even more important to me than the hippest smartphone.
If you are looking for a cell phone plan that will help you save money, then the Straight Talk plan from Tracfone may be very beneficial for you. I have not tried this plan or know anyone who has, but looking at the numbers makes this plan seem very affordable.
Many people are looking to trim expenses and cut back on the necessities. Going prepaid is one such thing people have been looking at. Tracfone offers all kinds of perks even on its main brand plans.
One is the Tracfone Double Minutes for Life add-on, which costs somewhere around $30.
Another thing the subscribers get excited about is Tracfone promo codes, which can be redeemed for free minutes when you make a purchase of talk time online. Tracfone is seen by many to be a value prepaid wireless provider. I guess 12 million people can't be wrong!
One of Tracfone's chief competitors is Boost Mobile, a company the made waves earlier this year when it released is Unlimited Monthly prepaid plan for $50. This plan includes unlimited talk time, unlimited text messaging, and unlimited web access.
Tracfone recently made more waves with the release of Straight Talk. Industry insiders and experts fear a price war may be looming as the aggressive Tracfone undercut the price by $5, offering its prepaid unlimited cell phone plan for $45.
MetroPCS has gotten into the game by releasing a $40 unlimited prepaid plan. This has fanned the flames of the prepaid price war, as wireless companies drop prices and add more services in order to compete.
Leap Wireless (Cricket) has added some more features to its prepaid plans, and even Page Plus has made some significant changes to its offerings all in order to compete. Prices are being driven down and more affordable prepaid plans are flooding the market. It's a good thing for prepaid users.

Who Will Win the Prepaid Price War?
It is clear that Tracfone Straight Talk and Boost Mobile have head starts, but they are the bigger and more established prepaid providers--so that is no surprise. I think what we will see is more specialized service, meaning the regional providers like MetroPCS will stay local.
Since there is more choice, people will look for the best wireless offer available to them in their area.
