Camping is a tradition among families who wish to spend quality time with each other and avoid the long lines and rowdy people that are found at theme parks. It gives them the chance to connect with each other, learn how to take care of themselves, and to work together in order to accomplish different things.

There are many forms of camping. Some people will choose to camp out in a public camping ground that is used by many other people. These are less private then most and sometimes are equipped with showers and bathrooms for people who don’t like the idea of roughing it out the old fashioned way.

Other people will go trail camping. This is more for the people who want to truly rough it out and have no fear. There are different types of trails that you can use - which are proven to be safe by park rangers. When trail camping you need to make sure that you have the necessary compass, tents, and food to keep you going the whole time.

The most popular and largest trail that people will visit is the Appalachian Trail. This is 2,178 miles long that spans across fourteen states, six national parks, and eight national forests. It begins in Georgia and ends in New York. If you have never done it before then you should consider starting with something smaller.
