Who would have thought that a flick about big, transforming machines based on an animated program from the way back eightees would be one of the highest grossing flicks of all time? That’s precisely what happened with Michael Bay’s 2006 chartbuster adaptation of the Transformers, featuring Optimus Prime and the heroic Autobots versus Megatron and the malevolent Decepticons for control of the godlike All Spark, the maker of all responsive mechanized life. Their war waged throughout centuries, in the unfathomable niches of the universe, and to our world. The film congealed the position of Shia LaBeouf – who played Sam Witwicky – as a bankable A-rank actor and propelled Megan Fox – who played Sam’s love pursuit – into super fame. It turns up as no shock that the follow-up to the film, Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen, is one of the most anticipated flicks of 2009. Scheduled for June 26, 2009 issue, Revenge of the Fallen will tell the continuing tale of the Autobots on Earth, but will at the same time be more large-scale than the original. Rumors persist, still, that the Earth won’t be the sole combat zone in Transformers 2. The Fallen, in the end, refers to one of the first 13 Transformers created by the automaton god Primus who deceived his maker by supporting Primus’ evil brother, the planet-devouring, global -sized, and global-transforming Unicron. This tells us that Transformers 2 won’t just be universal in scale, it will be colossal as well. The plot and the personalities are shrouded in secrecy, though revealed pictures of filming show the following possibilities: - Assembly automobiles painted with filthy green which may direct to the Constructicons – 7 Decepticon robots that turn into construction vehicles and merge to form the grand Devastator. - Unexploited notion art of an Autobot labeled Long Haul is rumored to have been dug up for this follow-up. - Arcee, a female Autobot who turns into a motorbike and who was thought to be a member of the faction in the first movie is certain to be included in Transformers 2: Revenge of the Fallen. - Hasbro’s recent Licensing Summit showed several novel models planned for the release of Transformers 2, which indicate new personalities which may play some roles in the flick. Together with them are a tiger-like automaton called Ravage, which would appear to indicate the involvement of his boss and Megatron’s loyal right hand man, Soundwave. Speaking of Megatron, the new models would display that he will be given a new alt mode: a tank. At the same time, a Chevrolet Corvette will turn into the cartoon favorite, Sideswipe.
