Since the beginning of man kind. Humans have always used alternative ways to get around. I don't think we would have been able to spread the globe. If it weren't for the vast different means of transportation. From ourselves to the products we use. Everything has taken a ride at least once during the spanned of its life. Just take sometime to look around you. Nearly everything if not everything you own has come from some where else.

Earlier man kind didn't have machines. So they used the help of other animals to get around. Like horses, camels,elephants,and dogs. These are just the ones I know about. They are also still used in some places of the world. Who knows what actually gave our ancestors the idea to get another animal to help with travel. I guess it was just the will of wanting to move in a more timely manner. Then there came the invention of the sled and wheel. These two items help improve transporting. Noe not only could humans move faster. They could now take necessities with them. The improvements don't stop there.

When the invention of the engine came. Things were even better. First was steam engines. They where installed in cars, trains, and ships. I'm not even sure if planes where invented during this time. When these changes were made. Transportation really started to take off. Transporting goods and everyday travel became a little bit easier. This allowed humans to spread out even farther. We didn't have to depend on animals,sails, or rows to get us around. Ships improved on water ways. The use of some animals declined to get across land. The locomotive was the new way to get goods across long stretches of land. Now life is really getting easier. There was one modification made to engines which definitely made things a lot easier.

When the combustion engines where made. Getting around was made not only easier but faster. I know at first the earlier combustion motors were not all that fast. Now on the other hand. I think our ancestors probably lose their minds. Going from moving five miles per hour to sixty miles per hour. That is a big difference even though we see it as nothing. We have many ways to travel the globe now. Taken to the air,land, or water. We use planes,trucks,trains, and ships to transport goods now. We depend on cars mainly to get us to a and b. Not only has the commute improved. The machinery we use to build. Letting humans settle in places that couldn't before. When you take time to actually reflect on something. You find a new found respect for them.

I was just giving a general idea of transportation as a whole wnd what helped us settle where we have. So I'm sorry for not mentioning the motorcycle or bicycle. Also if no one has done so I would like to thank all inventors. They really have mad our lives easier. Now if I wanted to take a trip to Florida. It would only take hours.
