Renown transvestite Jeremy Stockwell portrays glamorous movie star Dinah East whose secret is revealed when she dies and the world discovers that she was actually a man.

Andy Warhol favorite, Ultra Violet, co-stars as Dinah's lesbian fashion photographer confidant. This controversial film from 1970 was based on the longstanding whispers that Mae West was a male. The movie was pulled from distribution after the actress, Mae West, filed a successful lawsuit saying the motion picture slandered her name. She then proceeded to buy and destroy as many prints of the film that she could find.

"The movie is camp when it intends to be and even when it doesn't intend to be. It's also quite brave for its time since it doesn't pretend to be outrageous as "Beyond the Valley of the Dolls", yet it still offers up plenty of male frontal nudity (gorgeous bods!), heavy lesbian make-out scenes, and even (eww!) a bit of attempted necrophilia. The film also allows the audience to empathize with its leading lady (man, whatever) in her loneliness in being a cross-dressing Hollywood movie star.
