Travellin' Rick's Photo Album - June 2009
62Hi everyone! This is Travellin' Rick back again for another great adventure for the month of June 2009. June was rather cool with the temperatures hoovering around 20 degrees Celsius. It was by no means cold, but defintely cool.
June 8, 2009 - I drove out to Kamloops Lake, Kamloops, BC. I saw these amazing yellow cactus flowers. They were absolutely the most beautiful flower I have ever seen in my life. They were so beautiful looking that they looked like they were plastic. The other thing that was really interesting about the cactus flowers is that on several of them there were little bumble bees. I would guess that the bumble bees were sucking the nectar out of the flowers. I love cactus plants. I have several of them in my garden outside. We do bring them in for the winter. However, I wish my cactus plants would flower. I would love to see flowers like that on mine. Maybe someday.
June 20, 2009 - Out in my backyard, we noticed there was a baby robin sitting on the ground. I picked him up and moved him to a safer location because we do have cats. Two of our cats stay indoors but one cat is an outdoor cat and he would have liked to have had a baby robin for his dinner so that is why I moved the baby robin out of the way. I think the baby had actually fallen out of his nest or possibly been scared out of his nest by another bird. There was a bright yellow bird flying around in the trees near where we found the baby robin. The mother and father robin were also hoovering around the baby so I'm sure they would have helped the little guy.

Hey Badco, later on today I'll post a couple more pics of that lake. I have better ones. Most of our lakes around here look like that. I live in an absolutely beautiful area, clear blue lakes, mountains, valleys and tons of wildlife. I have a mountain right outside my front door and at work there is a mountain on both sides of me. There is a tree right by the river, right across the street from my work. A bald eagle sits in that tree for hours on end, waiting to catch a trout or salmon from the river. I absolutely love living here. If you ever get the chance to come to Canada, look me up. I can definitely show you some awesome scerery, very breathtaking.
