Traveltime Philippines! Loving Visayas (part 2)
69The beauty of Tacloban, Leyte
This why I so love my job as a media practicioner! You hit two birds with one stone. haha!
Visiting Tacloban, Leyte was a welcome treat. While you get to understand the landscape and the behaviour of the consumers, you get to enjoy "the landscape" on the side as well.
Tacloban is such a peaceful place. Life seems to stop when youre there. Its like you just want to feel the fresh air touching your face and hearing the sound of the trees as they brush against each other. Such serenity.
I can't help but fall in love with the beach! So calm and so inviting. A dip in the water promises to be an experience you will never regret!
Leyte Park Hotel, on the other hand, has its own story to tell. While a bit old already ( rumors has it that the former First Lady owned this hotel, as she hails from Tacloban Leyte) it still shows off its splendor during its glory days. Its been rehabilitated by the new owners and therefore, is still a place I'd choose to be whenever I am there.
The floating restaurant within the hotel vicinity is a welcome treat too! Good, fresh and inexpensive food await you at this place where the cool sea breeze gives you a de-stressing atmosphere.
The spot where the late Gen Douglas MacArthur landed in Leyte is such a historic place. Frequented by foreigners and even locals, its surroundings boasts of a beautiful, clean, quiet park ideal for leisure.
Well-manicured grass, plants, flowers will surely draw one into staying there for a little while longer.
Tacloban is a good alternative to Boracay. Nice, cool beach...nice, cool people. A respite for people who need to take time off for their much-needed vacation.
Its worth your time, money and effort.
