Cervix is a part referring to the lower end of uterus. The growth of cancer cells in the cervical area is known as cervical cancer. It is one of the complex forms of cancer formation in a human body. Cervical cancer is a result of infection due to human papillomavirus, or HPV. This virus gets transmitted to the cervix area through sexual contact. Other factors like chemical exposure, food habits, tobacco use, and hormonal medications may also cause cervical cancer.

Cervical cancer is often unnoticed as there are many other problems related to vaginal infection. It has to be diagnosed using various simple techniques like pap smear test, loop electrical excision procedure, and other pathologic tests. Cervical cancer is asymptomatic in its early stages. However, some of the symptoms like contact bleeding, pain during intercourse, vaginal discharge, and vaginal mass etc are found during advanced stages. In some advanced cases, vaginal bleeding is also possible.

A good range of treatment choices are available for cervical cancer. Some of the commonly used treatments are in the form of surgery. If the diagnosis of the disease is made early, then it is possible to treat it using simple procedures. In the case of severe conditions, various tests should be done to select the apt treatment method for cervical cancer. The suitable treatment method can be evaluated with the help of a medical specialist.

Some of the possible surgical procedures include radical hysterectomy, radical trachelectomy, lymphadenectomy, and oophorectomy etc. In some extreme cases, the cervical cancer may spread to different regions surrounding the vaginal area. Under these circumstances, the treatment is quite difficult and a better treatment procedure should be used. Chemotherapy and radiation therapy can also be used depending upon the complexity of the disease.

You can read this report called "Natural Cancer Treatments" which is a good resource to know more about this.
