Before you can find an effective treatment for external hemroids it helps to know where it comes from. Eliminating the causes of your external hemroids is the most critical element of a treatment system.

These external hemroids begin from veins that go through the anal region. Because of the laws of physics, the anal area circulatory system behaves very strangely. Gravity states that fluids should flow down, but your body wants blood to get back to your heart. In addition, the anorectal canal undergoes quite a bit of stress just from your normal movement and body's elimination process.

The veins that take away waste from the anal area also runs through large hemorrhoidal cushions on the interior of the anal canal. These veins have to ability to open wide or constrict quite small providing flexibility and anal sphincter control. They go down past the anal sphincter to the exterior of the body before swinging back up towards the heart. This bend in your veins runs close to the exterior skin and is from where the external hemorrhoids originate.

So when the vein wall stretches too far and it doesn't naturally contract, a hemorrhoid will develop. While some hemorrhoids usually go away by themselves, others will get bigger and cause even more problems. It is a great idea to treat external hemorrhoids long before they get to a more critical stage.

Some common factors that cause hemroids are constipation, diarrhea, pregnancy, heavy lifting and long periods of sitting. These all generate abdominal pressure and make hemorrhoids.

How do you get rid of hemroids? The very first thing to do is to prevent symptoms from driving you insane. External hemorrhoids have the worst symptoms because of their location. There is a large and sensitive nerve band right below the skin line. External hemorrhoids often sit right on top of this nerve band which sends a signal up a high-bandwidth channel straight to your brain. This is what gives you the pain.

Thanks goodness this is a good treatment for external hemroids as close as your freezer, bathroom and home medicine cabinet. If you are inflicted with external hemorrhoid agony and you can't get to a pharmacy right any time soon, simply draw a couple inches of water hot as you can stand in the bathtub. Soak in it for about twenty minutes at a time, three to four times per day.

You will want to follow up with a towel-wrapped ice pack for maximum relief. Just be sure that you never ever put bare ice on your skin. Also, take an appropriate number of ibuprofen tablets for maximum pain and inflammatory relief.

After you can get to a drugstore, there are several creams and ointments that can provide great relief. For quick external hemorrhoid relief, look for a cream with a topical anesthetic in it. Other common ingredients include vasoconstrictors, astringents and corticosteroids. Vasoconstrictors are medications that will shrink blood vessels, making them very valuable for external hemorrhoids. There are a number of them on the market today, but beware as they can be dangerous for people with high blood pressure or other health conditions.
