What is a Panic Attack?
We all have to deal with a certain level of anxiety in our life. In a way, minor anxiety is not a bad thing. However, when anxiety levels reach a significant level, there will be physical manifestations of this psychological problem. The most common (and severe) physical reaction is that of a panic attack.
So, what exactly is a panic attack? A panic attack can best be described as the immediate onset of a severe amount of anxiety that occurs with very little warning. When a panic attack occurs, the symptoms are unmistakably clear. These symptoms involve rapid breathing, chest pains, dizziness, and disorientation. Yes, these symptoms sound dangerously close to a heart attack. Often, that is exactly what people suffering from a panic attack will believe they are experiencing.
Needless to say, the onset of such a condition can lead to a great deal of fear on the person experiencing it. (This is why it is called a panic attack) An individual who is dealing with severe and constant panic attacks can suffer a severe loss in the quality of life. Generally, this is because people dealing with panic attacks will be limited in the activities they take part in due to the spectre of the condition always hanging over their head.
The root cause of panic attacks is somewhat shrouded in mystery. This should come as no surprise since anxiety and panic attack originate in the mind which is not a tangible entity. However, search does show that there are certain factors that can contribute to a panic attack. Depression, pent up frustration, genetic factors, the use of alcohol and drugs are all factors that can lead to the onset of panic attacks.
When a panic attack occurs, it becomes necessary to take the steps needed to reduce the impact of the condition. Yes, this may sound like an “easier said than done” statement but it is necessary to try and reduce the problem as it occurs. Generally, taking slow and deep breaths is the most adhered to method for reducing the impact as it happens.
Of course, if simple breathing exercises were all that were needed to deal with the problem then it really would not be a problem at all. In other words, it is most definitely necessary to seek the help of a qualified mental health professional in order to receive the proper counselling needed to reverse the problems associated with the condition.
Regardless of the method you explore, it is possible to get a handle on issues related to panic attacks. While the condition is most definitely severe, it is not untreatable. As long as you can recognize the problem you will be able to seek help. Once you seek help you can take the steps to deal with it and, hopefully, be free of it.

How to cure Anxiety
Bottom Line
Anxiety disorders occur when the “conscious will” of the individual deviates from the “will of the whole”, which includes the individuals “unconscious will”. We work to understand our world but the reality of that is sometimes it is difficult and even painful. The “conscious will” attempts to avoid these difficulties by suppressing them. The “unconscious will” reminds the “conscious will”, through a variety of symptoms like: pounding heart and palpitations, chest pain, shortness of breath, dizziness, intrusive thoughts, derealisation, the list goes on, that something is wrong. To a greater or lesser degree we all have difficulties to overcome, but overcome we must, so though hard work, effort and hopefully not too much pain, every individual will find balance of consciousness and comfort of mind and body.
Fear is conquered by action
When we challenge our fears, we defeat them.
When we grapple with our difficulties,
They lose their hold upon us.
When we dare to face the
Things which scare us,
We open the door to freedom.
