Trisha Yearwood Recipes

Trisha Yearwood is one of these annoying people who is not only a very talented signer and she's also just released her very own cookbook called Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen (Recipes From My Family to Yours). Jeez, that's quite a long title but basically it contains loads of recipes that Trisha and her mother and sister created in rural Georgia which is famous for Southern comfort cooking.

Southern cooking is pretty distinctive and includes some favourites such as Pimento Cheese Spread, Fried Chicken with Milk Gravy and Brunswick Stew. These are certainly dishes I wouldn't ever make as I'm not only from Scotland but I'm also vegetarian. However the cheese dish looks interesting. If you plan on doing a bit of Southern cooking then you really have to familiarize yourself with these ingredients.

However it seems that in the South develied eggs are one of the most popular snacks and it's also something that I love now and again. I'm not sure exactly where that recipe originates. There is also two different versions of the cookbook - a "her" version and a "him" version. This seems a bit strange to me but basically the "her" version is much more traditional Southern cooking.
