Welcome!

Hello all! I am happy to be here sharing my experiences with you! I've thought about starting a blog about my experiences working with children and adolescents with autism for a while now, and I've finally followed through.

I was (and am) inspired to start this blog in an effort to share my experiences working with autistic individuals. Many times the stories I have shared with family and friends have shocked and surprised them, and I realized that too many people don't know what people with autism are REALLY like. This is unfortunate since autism is a bit of a hot topic as of late, not to mention that these people are truly amazing and talented individuals.

I want to accurately portray the life of an individual with autism, including the wonderful things they are capable of as well as the terrible and dangerous incidents that sometimes do occur. I have no desire to embellish or falsify these stories. I will be sharing my experiences as a teacher in a residential setting, and all identities will be kept confidential.

I'm excited to see where this blog goes, and I hope that it is interesting and informative. I will try to post every couple of days, so check back soon!
