Whats the point?

Vampire shows and movies are increasing in popularity lately and with a younger generation joining the ranks of fans, vampire interest will continue to sky rocket for at least another two years, maybe three at the most. Recently I've been watching an HBO series called True Blood, mostly out of curiousity, to see what all the hype was about it. I am a huge vampire fan... so this is was something that intrigued me slightly, I enjoy movies like Blade and Underworld and I have read books like Twilight and Vampire Academy; next series in line will be The Vampire Diaries.

As I started watching this show, I kept thinking, "Get to the point already." I found myself bored and at times wondering what the hell was going on. Maybe I should have started watching the series from the beginning, but I didn't take much interest in it then either. It is hard to make heads or tales of who's bad and who's good; cliche... mostly.

Then I kept thinking to myself, "Where is this going? There's not awhole lot of action and the little bit there is, is not what you would call exciting. I enjoyed Anna Paquin slightly in X Men, but I gotta say that it's like her acting has taken a down ward plunge.

The whole Jesus/ God thing... WIERD... I mean I can see the point, but at the same time, they make those parts seem almost comedic. I want to laugh everytime I watch the parts which contain anything about God; maybe they meant for that to happen. The acting is so bad, that I would run from God if I personally didn't know any better.

Aside from all that, the show overall seems very copied and robotic in a sense. I wonder what CW's The Vampire Diaries is going to be like?

My take is, if your going to make a TV show about vampires... at least make it jump out at the people watching it... it's not seductive or appealing at all. Maybe HBO could take a hint from CW producers... I mean shows like Smallville and Supernatural, at least they give one something to anticipate every week. I don't anticipate anything with True Blood other than seeing more bad dialogue, plots and acting.
