A True Account Of A Supernatural Being
Many people do not believe in the paranormal unless they have an encounter with it themselves. I have to admit, I would not believe in strange stuff either, but over the years I have experienced the paranormal, the strange and the bizarre first hand. Maybe I am psychic, or maybe it is something that simply runs in families. I had several grandparents and great grandparents who also had a lot of paranormal events in their lives. My grandmother lived in such an intensely haunted house that the family burned it to the ground and went to an inferior place to live at great hardship to all. Now, that is a story that I believe, because they had nothing to gain. They did not have any kind of insurance on the house or benefited in any way from burning that house down. I believe they thought that pure evil lurked within. It was something my grandmother would barely talk about, even at the age of 87 she remained tight lipped on the subject. However, when a newly installed shelf fell in the middle of the night, this normally placid well adjusted women went into hysterics and ran around yelling, “The devil is in the house, the devil is in the house!” It took a long time to calm her down after that incident. And, it gave me a small glimpse into what that family must have suffered through. I never saw a normal person act that strange over such a little thing. There is always a good reason that people act the way they do, and I could see that my grandmother was re-living the horror of the strange events that were going on in that house so long ago. Like I said, she refused to talk about it, and whenever the subject came up, she got her Bible out and started to read it. Everyone in that family carried a Bible with them wherever they went.
Like I said, I myself have experienced paranormal events. Some were very common, while others were so bizarre that I questioned my sanity. The following account really happened to me! I believe I saw something that could only be a werewolf or an Egyptian Anubis, a demon with the body of a man with the head of a wolf.
The year was 1985. The place is Wisconsin, where many reports of werewolves and dogmen have been reported.
That summer was the first time I had ever fallen in love, and it was like magic to me. Never did I think I could feel like this. And, thankfully the feeling was returned. It was a time that I still remember with great fondness. If things had not ended so tragically, I am sure I would still be with this person today, and my life would be better for it. I never felt such intense love, longing and sexual attraction with anyone else since.
My boyfriend and I had been together that entire summer day and evening, ending up at a local tavern not far from my home. There we had a Friday night fish fry, and spent the hours looking into each other eyes, as only people newly in love can do. We sipped soda and a few beers between us over the evening, as neither one of us were into drinking.
Not wanting to end the night, after the bar closed at 2 am we got a pizza and decided to go to a local lovers lane to eat and talk some more, and yes, to just be together. We parked overlooking the Horicon Marsh. We could see the shape of the ancient Indian burial mounds that dotted the landscape. The moon was full and glistening in the waters of the marsh. The entire landscape was alight, and I think even then had a paranormal glow about it.I remember how well I could see everything, hear everything, way beyond human ability, although at the time, I was so preoccupied with my boyfriend, that I took little notice of these things.
A chorus of frogs and crickets filled the night. I could smell the scent of ripening sweet corn mingled with the pungent odor of the marsh. It was truly a beautiful summer’s eve. We remarked on the great beauty of the place and how lucky we were to have been born and raised in the area.
The music was low on the radio, we ate our pizza and talked again of future plans. We talked of the Indian mounds and the people who once lived in this area. We finished eating and I was cuddled next to my friend, content just to be near him, when I suddenly felt all the hair on my arm stand on end. Next the side of my face and neck felt as if it was being picked with pins. For some unknown reason I felt extreme fear.
My friend must have felt the same fear, I felt him clench me closer to him. I think we both saw it at the same time. From the marshy area, where the moon caressed the water, we saw what looked like a large hairy man, walking upright. He was very big, with wide shoulders and a narrow waist. His arms were longer than a human. When he turned his head, we saw that it looked like that of a dog or wolf, and he seemed to be sniffing the air.
Total fear gripped me, I could not move, could not even utter a sound. Never since or then have I ever felt such heart stopping fear. I know now why people have heart attacks from extreme fear. On the other hand, my boyfriend sprang into action. Within a few seconds, with sawed off shot gun in hand, he stood by the side of the truck, ready to shoot.
The beast was standing erect looking toward us and the truck. My boyfriend was now taking aim, ready to fire at any second. The beast seemed to be making eye contact with my boyfriend, and the eyes looked RED. Maybe it was the moonlight reflecting off the water that caused this, but I doubt it. I believe this thing was some kind of demon hailing from the depths of hell itself.
There was not one sound, not one cricket chirped or bull frog croaked. There, on a lush mid summer night, it was completely silent. Then, the sound of shotgun shots blasted through that deep, dark silence. I saw the beast jump up as if he had been shot, and then he threw his head back and left out the most unearthly howl/scream I have ever heard. It made my blood run cold, and even now, all these years later, just thinking about it sends a chill of fear through me.
My boyfriend jumped in the truck and we were turning around toward the road we came in on when I saw the beast running toward us, upright, just like a man, but so much faster. Within mere seconds he was closing in on us, and I got an even better look at him. He looked just like the pictures of an Egyptian Anubis! His eyes glowed red as he looked at me, and he reeked of rotting flesh. By this time we were almost on the road and my boyfriend lost not one second getting us out of there. We hit the road at high speed and almost tipped over. For a few harrowing seconds the truck was on two tires until it finally flopped down with a spine altering jolt. With all four tires on the road again, we made our getaway. We heard one last enraged howl and then the creature was gone, left in the dust and the dark velvet of the summer’s night.
We told no one, knowing that people from small towns are not open minded. We only talked to each other of our bizarre experience. In the end, we both agreed that what we saw was not of this dimension we humans live in.
We went back to the same location the next day to see if there was any sign of blood or hair, or anything that would prove what we saw. There was nothing, nothing at all.
We could not even find evidence that we ourselves had been there the night before. We thought there would at least be the tracks of the truck’s tires and matted grass where we had parked, but there was nothing, absolutely NOTHING at all.
It was as if the events of that night were erased by a supernatural hand.
About a year after the incident, my boyfriend started having horrible nightmares about what we had seen. I thought it was odd that it took an entire year for this to manifest. After the bad dreams began, insomnia started and he was never the same again. Although I tried to help him in every way I knew how, my boyfriend could not cope with whatever was haunting him. One day he simply died of a heart attack while jogging. Being just 24 years old and in excellent physical condition, it was a shock to all. I believe his death was not natural but was the result of that night. Perhaps he was somehow HEXED by this evil entity.
All over Wisconsin there are people who claim to have seen a werewolf. I believe them, because I saw something that also looked like a werewolf or an Egyptian Anubis, an ancient god of the dead. Perhaps these gods are guarding the ancient Indian mounds?
Do these creatures really exist? Yes, I believe they do, but they are of the spiritual realm. I believe there are times in which we slip into that spiritual realm and when we do, we see things that we cannot explain. That lovely summer night in 1985 was supernaturally beautiful and calm. It was simply perfect in every way, the way the moon slid across the sky and caressed the waters of the marsh, the soft night sounds that lulled and mesmerized us…even the way the moon lit the clouds and the night sky, we could see so much more than was normal. Yes, I believe that somehow we slipped into another dimension and found the beauty and evil that lurked there.
The land of Wisconsin unrolls over huge deposits of granite. The ancients used granite to contact the dead. Perhaps these large deposits of granite under the topsoil of Wisconsin are the catalyst which transports us to another dimension?
Perhaps one day, scientist will become more open minded when it comes to the paranormal and will start to study these kind of events in earnest. I think we are already seeing this trend with some of the modern ghost hunters.
The ancient Indian tribes built their burial mounds over these granite deposits and crop circles have been found in these areas also. What does it all mean? Maybe one day, there will be a logical explanation, but then again, maybe not!
