Trusting God's Timing
67Trusting God's Timing
Have you ever been just completely frustrated with the way your life has been going? You had it all planned out but it just didn't seem to pan out the way you wanted?
Trust me, I've been going through the very same thing. I recently started a non profit that deals with giving books to public schools, but it seems as if just about everything has gone wrong that could go wrong.
First it was not finding the right publisher, then it was the costs, and now it's getting in touch with the public schools.
It all seems like a big headache, and I know many of you have the same things going on in your lives. We have our lives planned out and if only God would give us a little help sometimes, then things would be so much better, wouldn't they?
Unfortunately, God doesn't work this way. He wants us to learn to be dependent on Him, and a lot of times, to show His presence, He will bring something to pass in a completely different way than we could ever have imagined.
I like this story that I recently heard by Joel Osteen. He was saying that a couple of weeks ago he went running outside. Being frustrated with God because He wasn't bringing about some things in Joel's life as quickly as Joel would have liked, Osteen figured he'd relieve his stress through that run. About a mile out, Osteen began seeing leaves start to fall and thought it would be fun to try to catch some leaves. He tried, but failed. Tried again and failed again. By now the whole tree was practically coming off and Osteen couldn't manage to catch a single one!
Eventually he just gave up and kept running. About 10 minutes into the run a leaf slid right down into his hand. In all his times out running, Joel says that this had never happened to him before.
This is the same way that God works many times. When we least expect it, He will bring it to pass in our lives. He wants us to trust Him and not be so anxious to do things on our own.
This really is easier said than done isn't it? Being an impatient person (one of my man flaws!) I naturally question God and get upset at Him when things don't turn out just the way I had planned. I am working on taking one day at a time and trusting on Him to bring His plan out just the way it should be. Will you do the same?
Always feel free to contact me if you have any questions. Would love to help!
