The Truth about Free ipods, LCD's, Xbox 360's, PS3's and More!

The concept of free items is quite simple. More often than not - you should alreadty know - nothing is TRULY free, but many items are close to free. The closeness to being a free item is subject to your threshold and definition of a free item.Is something free if you have to pay for shipping, or if you have to take a survey, or how about if you have to subscribe to something in return? These may be seen as free to some and not to others.

The companies offering free incentives exist purely make money. They achieve this through referrals to advertisers' products. The people that signup for the advertisers are helping sponsor the freebie site. The operators of the freebies site get paid to deliver customers.

The process is simple:

1. Find something that you want for free. Maybe you need a laptop, or a new LCD tv.

2. Register on that site and note the requirements to get the item for free. (maybe you need 8 referrals for a freeiphone)
3. Compete an offer yourself to activate your account

4. Refer the proper number of friends from your account to sugnup under you. They also must complete an offer to activate their account. They can then repeat the process and get referrals under them.
5. Monitor the progress and verify that each person that has signed up under your name has completed an offer.
6. Once you have met the number of referrals, claim your free prize.

The terminology used for freebies sites will also help to make better sense of the concept. When you have completed an offer and your freebies site host has recognized the completed offer, you are then credited. Your account has a control panel which illustrates your status, the people under you and the numbe rof referrals required for your goal of the free prize you have pre-selecred.

When an offer is completerd and credited to your account,m it is called a "green" or that it's status has gone green. Your referrals ( the people under you) will appear as green as well, indicatring that they have completed an offer and it has been recognized by the freebies site administrator.

Going green typically takes a few days from the time you complete an offer, as there is communication between the sponsor, the advertiser, and the freebies site itself. Once all of these parties have communicated with each other to confirm a product or offer, your account status is then updated.

Your yellow status usually means that the offer confirmation is still in process and awaiting confirmation.

Red status indicates a problem with your your offer completion. This may be serious, or simple often simply requiring you to forward a copy of the paid invoice to the freebies site administrator, or similar.

Freebies sites is big business. Make no mistake about it. Not all freebies sites are created equal however. Some are reputable, some are fly by night. it's up to the consumer to do some research and make a decision to what site you wish to obtain your free item from.

Free ipods, LCD tv's, laptops, and video game consoles can be obtained from dozens upon dozens of freebies sites. There are also networks of sites with their own offers and their own requirements. With a little reaearch, one may find it signifncantly easier to meet the number of referrals.

One example may be that a free ipod will cost 8 referrals, however the model of the ipod may be a lesser model than another site with 7 referrals for a better model. Research is the key.

Most, if not all of the free ipod, tv, lcd, laptop and video game sites have limitations. Some of the limitations may be a deal breaker and you have to be wary. The best approach is to read the terms and conditions first!

Country Specific Limitations

The most important condition being country specific limitations. Most of the free sites are US based and for those that reside outside the USA, free sites have limitations. One may find that the free site does not ship to your country and you may not get your free item, insteadm they may opt to pay you by paypal, or with a gift card. In some instances, the free site may require you to add an extra referral to cover shipping charges to your country.

Credit Card Required

Many free sites have advertising programs that require a credit card to enroll or to sample their product - as a requirement to your going green. In some cases, the credit card must also be in the name of the individual tjhat is signing up for the offer on the free site. This undoubedly causes a problem for those without a credit card.

Time Limits On Getting Referrals

From the time you signup and complete your first offer to activate your account, there may be a time limit on meeting the number of referrals to compelte your free item requirement. This could cause all your efforts to be useless. One example may be 90 days from the time of activation.

No Repeat Offers

Make sure to keep track of the offers you complete. Most offers do not permit duplicate signups. Once you have enrolled in a program, or purchased a subscriptio, you cannot do it again. In some cases you can after a certain time period.

Value of Offers

Keep an eye on the value of each offer. it is not uncommon to have some offers worth 1 credit and other worth 1/2 or even 1/3 a credit. This ultimately means that you will haveto complete several smaller offers to activate yourgreen status.

The premise is once again pretty basic. Offers from advertisers that are of minimal cost, or free do not pay the free site organizers very well, thus they do not have much payout. if the payout is minimal, then the value of your acceptance to the program is not worth much money either. The math is as follows - if you purchase a columbiahouse subscription, it costs you nothing, but the free site owner may get $50 from columbia house. That $50 now has to go towards your free item, which may cost $300. If you were given full $50 credit, the free site organizer has not made any money. if the credit is given as $25 however, then the free site has made $25, and he can then credit you $25 as one of your green's.

Alternate Methods to Free ipods, LCD's, Laptops and Video Games

Not so commonly know are the alternate methods to getting free stuff. There involve trading referrals with other people or paying for referrals outright.

There are entire communities and forums for like minded people to complete offers and find those interested in trading. One benefit to this is the these communities have a rating and policing system which helks everyone!
