Tucson Cheap Hotels
64You probably found this page because you searched for “Tucson cheap hotels”. If you are looking Tucson cheap hotels, one of the best ways to do so is through Name Your Own Price on Priceline. Priceline was ranked second, only behind Hotwire for customer satisfaction among all travel sites. Does this mean that Hotwire will get you better deals on cheap hotels in Tucson than Priceline? No. Customer satisfaction does not only consist of rates. In fact, the general consensus over on betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com is that Priceline will get you better prices.
Whenever hotels have unsold rooms they use Priceline and Hotwire to fill them by letting both third party sites sell off their empty rooms at discounted rates online. The only catch to Priceline and Hotwire customers is that they do not know the exact hotel they’ll be staying in. Regardless, the savings that both sites give makes up for their ambiguity. What is the difference between Name Your Own Price and Hotwire? If you do a search for Tucson on Priceline you’ll notice that you have to bid for a hotel (naming your own price). If you do a search for Tucson on Hotwire you’ll notice that prices are predetermined (thus the higher prices on Hotwire). Although Hotwire is easy to use, you have more freedom when you use Priceline. We’ll utilize this flexibility to the fullest by finding out where you should start your bids and how you should bid.
Betterbidding.com and biddingfortravel.com allow users to post their winning bids on Priceline.
To find Priceline winning bids for the Tucson area on betterbidding.com, simply search Tucson in the search box at the top of the site. Just make sure to ignore all the search Hotwire search results.
To find Priceline winning bids for the Tucson area on biddingfortravel.com, simply search Tucson in the “search all” button at the top of the home page.
These winning bids from both sites specify the star level, zone, name of the hotel, dates, and, most importantly, the winning bid amount. When you bid using Priceline you’re going to have to bid for a certain zone and star level. As such, when looking for winning bid amounts pay close attention to the bids, which match with your desired zone and star level. Often times, there will be enough posted winning bids for you to make very good guess as to where you should start bidding. If there are not enough winning bids posted, you’re going to have to make an educated guess.
You now know where to bid, but how should you bid?
If you were to use Priceline and only pay attention to what Priceline tells you on their site, you’d believe the you can only rebid again after 24 hours if you want to keep your search criteria the same. However, there is a loophole, which has been exploited by those who know about it. This “loophole” allows you to rebid immediately (many times) for the same search criteria! Say you want to bid for a 31⁄2-Star Upscale-Plus hotel in the Tucson Central zone (31⁄2-Star Upscale-Plus is your chosen star level and Tucson Central is your one chosen zone). Say your first bid gets rejected. You can rebid immediately for a 31⁄2-Star Upscale-Plus hotel in the Tucson Central zone if, for your next bid, you add a zone whose maximum star level is lower than 31⁄2-Star Upscale-Plus. You can find each zones maximum star level by clicking and un-clicking on each zone on the Name Your Own Price homepage. For your next bid, bid for two zones, Tucson Central and Tucson Airport. Because Tucson Airport’s maximum star level is 3-Star Upscale you are using it as a “dummy zone”. In other words, because its maximum star level is lower than your chosen star level (31⁄2-Star Upscale-Plus) there is no chance you’ll stay in the Tucson Airport zone. You’ve simply used it as a “dummy” to rebid again. Of course, this is not the only way to rebid for the Tucson area.
This post over at betterbidding.com will tell you all the possible rebids you have for the Tucson area. Just keep in mind that a rebid zone/dummy zone is any zone whose maximum star level is lower than the one, which you are bidding on. Furthermore, keep in mind that for the Tucson area, although “resorts” is listed below every other star level, it is the highest star level available.
Over at Savannah Cheap Hotels Guide, you can see how I made a list of rebids available using the aforementioned post on betterbidding.com
Although, Priceline bidding involves some homework, I am not kidding when I say that, if you use this method, it will get you the best deals on Tucson cheap hotels.
