Tuna Casserole
- Large can of tuna
- 1 can of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom soup
- Use soup can pour in one can of milk
- 1/2 cup mayo
- 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
- 2 cups of bow tie pasta partly cooked about 5 minutes.
- 1 raw egg
- 1 cup of vegetables
- 1/4 parsley
- salt and pepper to taste
- optional boiled eggs
- optional crushed potato chips
- Mix all ingredients together except for tuna and pasta.
- Pour into a large bowl sprayed with pam.
- Then add cooked pasta and turn over.
- Add tuna, turn over slowly so as not to break the tuna up to much.
- You can add more milk say 1/2 cup if your casserole doesn't seem to have enough milk for all the items you have in it.
- If you add eggs to this casserole I cook the eggs with the noodles then take the shells off chop up and add to casserole with the noodles.
- Cook in 375 oven for 60 minutes add crushed potato chips last 15 minutes.
Optional Items
Many items can be added to this casserole. I often use left over vegetables. You use frozen or canned.
- Peas
- Corn
- Olives
- Eggs
- Broccoli
- cauliflower
- Etc. just about anything you want.
- Instead of milk you can use left over cream, canned milk, buttermilk, skim milk or whole milk.
- Pasta of any kind will work
- Our favorite vegetable is the broccoli.
Like I said above if I add eggs I cook them with the noodles then peel and add the eggs. If their not cooked all the way or soft boiled that's ok add them anyway they will cook while the casserole is cooking.

I make this casserole in a large stoneware bowl. I'm not sure if the temp would be right for a different type of bowl. Stoneware is so heavy and takes longer to heat through.
Mmmm.....Can't wait to try this! Thank you for the recipe!

This sounds great. We are having a casserole potluck at church soon so I might try this.
Good it's good and you don't have to put all the extra items such as eggs in it. I do always put in one raw egg.
Thanks for posting and comments.
Hi Moonlake! I keep making my mom's tuna noodle casserole...just so my son will know what it is! As a child of the 60's, tuna noodle was a staple in our dinner menu at least twice a month! My mom died twelve years ago, so her recipe is comfort food to me, and my sisters, even if no one outside our immediate family can stand it! By the way, thanks for posting a comment on my "purrfect" dvd hub! I have written 8 hubs and hope to have LOTS more to go!
Thanks vintage chic for posting. I know what you mean by recipes that are comfort food. I use lots of my Mom's and my mother-in-laws recipes.
I think this will be dinner tonight. Thanks.
Your welcome hope you like it...Thanks for stopping by.

Sounds great, but the best tasting one has about 1 cup sliced green olives. The combo of tuna and olives makes the casserole zing
