In this Hub we are going to look at what are the similarities in an rc jet engine and a real passenger carrying jet engine. The enthusiast of rc jet flying hobby join this domain because they have the inside desire of flying, the love and the craving for more and more speed in flying. Well we the hobbyist have the flying speed limit of the engines we have available for rc jets, called rc jet engines. The real rc jet engine is a turbo rc jet engine which is in actual terms is as similar as a passenger carrying jet engine. The only difference between the two is that the passenger carrying jet engines have the turbo jet engines which use axial flow turbines while on our rc jet engine we have centrifugal flow turbines. Let’s have a look what on earth is centrifugal flow turbine which is used in an rc jet engine.

In the rc jet engine which uses centrifugal flow turbojet turbine, the air is thrown outwards when it enters from the inlet into the turbine and passes through the impeller. The air is compressed when it hits the inner walls of the turbo rc jet engine turbine chamber. This compressed air has an immense energy potential as it is pressurized and has increased temperature. Upon ignition, this compressed air releases this high energy and gives the thrust required for the rc jet engine to move.

RC jet flyers do not get turned off due to the maintenance required for the turbo rc jet engine but this is what keeps them engaged in the hobby while the quest to go faster grows on.
