Combine the cuteness of penguins with the nostalgia of your favorite pictures on these Christmas photo ornaments.  They're fun, simple, and a neat addition to your tree.  Let your kids help create these ornaments, and turn craft time into family time.  These penguins are so popular that they make great gifts to any host you want to thank during the holiday season.

Set your tree apart from the rest and personalize your ornaments.  There are many great ornament crafts out there, but this one is my favorite.  Who can resist a cute penguin?  Also, everyone knows that penguins travel together.  Create an entire family of penguins to display a set of your favorite photos. 

Begin your craft by stocking up on supplies and selecting the photos you wish to display.  I would advise selecting photos that are taken close-up to the subjects.  Once you have that together, let's begin!

Supplies:

-- Favorite photos

-- Scissors

-- Glue

-- 1 large, round, wooden circle

-- 1 small, round, wooden circle

-- Black acrylic paint

-- White acrylic paint

-- Orange acrylic paint

-- Googly eyes

-- Hole punch

-- Ribbon

Directions:

1.  Paint a large circle black on both sides, and set aside to dry.

2.  Paint the small circle white on 1 side and the edges.  Allow to dry

3.  Glue your white circle, centered across the large black circle and at the very bottom edge of the black circle (so that there is black circle showing on the sides and top of the white circle, but not along the bottom). 

4.  Paint an orange triangle on the black circle, just above the white circle. 

5.  Above and on either side of the nose, glue your googly eyes.

6.  Finally, once everything is dry, it is time to attach the photo.  Cut your picture to measure on the white circle -- any size you choose. 

7.  You have a penguin, but not it is time to turn it into an ornament.  Punch a hole in the top of the black circle and string your ribbon through the hole, tying off the end.  You now have a small "hook" to hang your ornament.
