Twittering 101
75Twittering 101
I think "Twitter" is awesome, so I put together this little "Twittering101" hub. One of the upsides to using twitter, is getting word out to hundreds sometimes thousands of people all over the world with just one or two tweets. People “tweet” for various reasons, but it mostly viewed as a online tool for business and for social networking.
It takes a while to build up followers, but its well worth it. Best way to get followers, Is to start following people yourself. However I would recommend targeting the ones your following to have the same interests with you, If your wanting to connect with people who may enjoy reading poems, you’d be wasting your time following a race car driver.
Twitter Hashtags and List's
Also with twitter at the end of your tweet you can add "Hashtags", which is represented by the # key. There's already one in place for hubpages people (#Hubpages) My tags are #Hubpages, #MilitaryMoms, #SOT (Support The Troops) and #AIM (ArmyInfantryMom). With these hashtags more readers are likely to click your links, along with you being more likely to stand out in the crowd. Twitter also just added the “List’s” feature’s, so lets say 15 of your hubpage friends twitter, instead of having them spread out among the people you are following, they all go on one list. People can follow your lists and you can follow other people’s list.
Since I been twittering and making myself know to twitter land and giving people the chance to get to know me, I have been tagged by others as #FF (that's Follow Friday) That’s where people recommend you in twitter land to all their follower‘s. Fridays now are my best day regarding my stats. Then they have music Mondays and what not.
Tweet Deck
Another suggestion would be to download the "Tweet Deck", http://tweetdeck.com it makes twittering easy. It also has an added benefit, it will tell you who many of your followers are on line, which means if you have a hub link you want to get out you have the power to see how many will see this tweet better 20 than 2. I use it as a tool, I now known when my followers are most likely online and what are the better times of day they are more likely to click my link’s. Remember to sign yourself up in the "Tweet Deck Directory".
Twitter's Fun140
I use other Twitter sites as well to further connect with my twitter community, On twitter's “fun140” http://www.fun140.com you can share pics, send gifts to friends, watch video’s, play games, take quizzes, partake in polls, and other activities.
Twitter's twtmuzik
Now if you like music, I would suggest signing up for a “twtmuzik” account. http://www.twtmuzik.com This is where you can download your mp3 music and share it on twitter. I have been able to hear some great music on this site and expand my network at the same time.
Twitter Counter
Since I use twitter as a tool in expanding my network, I use “Twitter Counter” http://twittercounter.com This here I call my Master Twitter Tool, I can see how many people is following me, using color graphs and charts. It also shows me how many new followers I get on an average day along with a 30 day prediction and it displays your ranking score. It also has widgets and button codes you can use on other sites you have.
Rare Opportunities
Twitter can also give you rare opportunities. I am a huge fan of Rob Thomas from Matchbox Twenty. I happened to be on twitter when he signed in, I tweeted him a question regarding the Troops not expecting a returned tweet. About 1 minute later he tweeted me back with the answer to my question. It was my Best twittering day for sure.
