Two Faced Cat

I was looking through the news releases this morning and ran across this article in the Telegraph.co.uk Britain's online news paper. I thought the cat lovers of Hub Pages would enjoy this story, too.

Vets told the woman, who wishes to remain anonymous, that Lil'Bit - as in "A little bit of love" - probably would not survive.

Vets believe Lil'Bit may have two brains

But the 47-year-old from Arizona was determined that the odd arrival, although ill, should not be put to sleep.

"I started feeding him every 15 minutes from an eye-dropper," she said.

"I fed him like that for two or three months before starting him on proper cat food."

Vets believe the cat, which has two mouths, two noses and four eyes, may have two brains, as one face can go to sleep while the other remains awake and it can blink independently on each one.

"When he purrs it is like he is purring in stereo," the cat's owner said.

I am still having trouble with the whole thought of having two brains. Or would that be "thoughts" ??

GREAT Hub Susan!! Wow!! I have done animal rescue for years and have never seen anything like that little kitty!! I actually think he is beautiful!! I applaude the owner for taking such good care of him!! And we shouldn't be surprised by two "brains!!" Don't most males?? ;-) Blessings!! Earth Angel!!

Poor Kitty; he's cute, though! I bet one brain is dominant,

Thsi reminds me of my father, who was a chimera -- his twin died in utero and he recieved an extra portion of stomach and luing and many extra teeth, plus 2 sets of DNA. it was horrible to have all the extra teeth pulled out later, though.

Interesting Hub. I saw a two-faced goat once. Also cute.

I thought it was just a provocative title and then...

Hope the little chap survives; he's a gemini like me: I think I have two brains and know how difficult that is!

Patty, that's interesting about your father, wish you would write about him, if you can.

Patty,

I agree with Kenny. I would love to see a hub about your father.

Back in the day when the carnival had "little people", "fat ladies" and lots of odd critters (Yeah, I'm old) I saw two headed snakes, cows, etc. I've never seen a cat in this condition. I would like to know how the woman came across the kitten and how she was able to care for him. Was the mother cat hers?

Sorry guys I couldn't get this information.

Earth Angel,

Your comment will give me a smile and a chuckle for the rest of the day!

Susan
