Two Favorite Dog Breeds

When I was a girl we had two American Cocker Spaniels, both with the red haired coat. We named them 'Spicey 1 and Spicey 2". They were at different times in my life. The first Cocker was given us by my aunt as she and her husband raised them for a living. Our 'Spicey' was born with a crooked face, so he could not be sold. Therefore, he came to live at our house. He was an outdoor dog unfortunately, as my folks did not allow dogs in the house. But if we were in the midst of a storm, via winter or early spring when tornadoes were prevalent, he was allowed into the laundry and kitchen. I was quite young when we had him, but I do recall fond memories of playing and interacting with him. He was a very lovable dog that we had to eventually give away under protest, as we were moving out to California. Despite the separation from him, we never forgot him.
Our second Cocker, was given to us from someone at a church we attended. 'Spicey 2'. He would love to play on our rope swing swinging from it with his mouth as I recall, under my favorite tree I was inclined to climb on a daily basis to dangerous heights. As far as the tree would take my weight. I remember looking down at him, smiling as he barked a warning which usually brought my Momma out of the house to scold me.
Now, I have never owned a Collie dog, but always loved the breed, starting with the show: 'Lassie'. I would love to own both dogs, perhaps even a Sheltie someday. There hopefully will be a dog in my future someday. For now, I am paying tribute to just two breeds I truly adore. Although I believe I could actually love them all!

I guess the secret is Jaspal, these are my two favorite picks. If I were to pick a special dog breed. I'm a sucker for the movie: "Lady and Tramp". :) So like you...I'd go for one too!

Beautiful pics Gwennies. Surprisingly, the cocker doesn't list amongst the most popular breeds ... but I'd go for one any day!
