A lead can be either a long or relatively short statement which can give an idea of what the contents of the books maybe intended and directed towards. It basically give a head start about the book the reader can have an idea about what lies in the book and whether it is according to the reader’s taste or not. If not, they can leave the book right there and may not have to regret the decision that they most likely have wasted their time while reading the book.

            There are different types of leads to choose from. A lead can either have a factor of curiosity in it or maybe some mild humor to lighten the mood of the reader. It can also be a question that is relevant to the book and its contents or maybe a challenging and direct statement that can clear things easily about what is being said.

From all the various types of leads, the choice made should preferably be closer to the theme of the book’s contents. If the book has adapted a light and amusing way of conveying the message then a similar type of lead statement can be picked so that it does not divert too much from the core idea. A book that has a funny lead but it contents are based on bitter facts then it is most likely that the reader may not trust the leads anymore in the future from that certain writer.
