Types of Kitchen Knives

Types of kitchen knives are not literally mean to its sharpness or dullness but it has divided into a lot of type in accordance to its use. Professionals nowadays want there cooking to be as fast as they can and in relation with that there must be an easiest way to cut those ingredients whether they wanted it to have some styles.

Here are some of the different types of kitchen knives:

  • · Chef’s knives, it may have a variety of lengths because there are chef’s who has big hands so it is much easier for use the long one for a faster cut of foods. A good quality chef’s knife has a support, a thick band of metal between blade and handle.
  • · Carving Knife, it is generally lager than the chef’s knife, this is very good in very rigid and flexible depends on the type of meat to be carved. There is also what they call as carving fork for pork of fish steaks, because these require more flexibility.
  • · Paring knife, it use for peeling of fruits, also use to create special garnishes and for decorative style.
  • · Utility knife usually has serrated edges for clean cuts.
  • There are still a lot of types of kitchen knives to be seen in a kitchen but some of it are not widely used you can see some of those knives in a restaurant.
