Typhoid Fever

Causes, Signs, Symptoms

Typhoid bacilli cause this disease. They grow and spread as feces-to-mouth infection. It is usually accompanied by fever, diarrhea, vomiting, cough, drowsiness, headache, delirium, fits, and maybe anemia and an enlarged spleen. Stomach may be swollen and tender. Usually, typhoid is diagnosed after a child has had fever for a week. Typhoid is not easy to diagnose. The primary infection is in the intestines.

Treatment

1. Treat the fever.

2. Consult a doctor and follow prescriptions.

3. Give plenty of fluid and soft protein food. The child will recover slowly but temperature may not be normal for a week.
