61Men & Women that serve the military
I don't feel we do enough for the men and women that serve in the military, whether it be the Army, Navy, Air force, or Marines. When a veteran dies, whether serving or not, we should have a memorial in honor of him or her. We should plant a tree in the town they live and place a plaque with there name and where they served next to the tree that gets planted in there honor. Our towns need to know the men and women that are serving and protecting our country. What better way of educating the citizens then by placing a plaque for all to read as they walk by it. If a town has 10 people that have died, then 10 trees need to be planted on the block that they lived. As long as the town is around so will the men and women that have died for us. The United States of America is a big country with 52 States and lots of cities and towns in each State. We have the room to plant as many trees that needs to be planted. Since we can't do this for the veterans that have passed away, then lets start it now for the future Veterans of this Country.

I whole heartedly agree that we don't do enough to honor our veterans. We should be especially supportive of our returning heroes and their families.
With that in mind I have created self help CDs to support our veteran families coping with PTSD. I am a graduate student in mental health counseling and have collaborated with a local author to produce the CDs. The first 2 of a planned 4 are finished. The first one deals with accepting grief and finding possibilities, the second is deals further with possibilities. The next 2 will deal with connecting/social support and choices/action.
These are my small way to help our heroes out. They can be found at http://www.veteranshelper.com
