Is That a Snowman?

If you are like me and stayed up late on the eve of July 23, 2007 to watch the You-tube Democratic Debates on CNN, hosted by Anderson Cooper, you might still be kickng yourself for losing sleep as I am. While the premise of the debates seemed to be ingenious, taking the questions out to the real voters, there were moments in which you wanted to just scream at the television or throw something.

This was a real chance for the public to pose serious questions to the candidates and for those who did, thank you. While serious voters posted questions ranged from topics about health care, the war in Iraq to Gay Marriage, others donned snowman costumes and inquired about Global Warming or raised ridiculous questions about whether or not the candidates liked the man or woman standing to their left. Some of the questions posed allowed presidential hopefuls to verbalize their positions on the issues while other inquiries led them to talk in nauseating circles. I think I saw flashes of my life a couple of times during those moments. Sure, I could have turned away, but I didn't want to miss the responses to a few of the real issues.

Did we really get anything out of this lengthy airing? Maybe. It means that future debates have a load of potential. It should be interesting to see how the Republicans function in this arena.

Check out a few other links about the upcoming 2008 Election and a few of its candidates:

Now we know what all those millions that Hillary and Obama have to spend, for questions on CNN. Bill Richardson didn't get as many questions, of couse he doesn't have as much money either.

I think the other issue you are dealing with is that they are pitched as the front runners of the party. I actually wanted to hear more from Joe Biden.
