UGC pay package: fitment tables for teachers, librarian, registrar, physical educators, exam. controllers
68The pay of incumbant teachers placed in different categories, librarians, assist. and deputy librarians, assist. and deputy registrars, registrars, group A staff belonging to various cadres of physical education and examination sections, shall be fixed as per the tables given below. The fitment tables have been authenticated by MHRD and sent to UGC for implementation of revised 6th pay commission scales based on UGC pay packages.
Fitment tables for readers and L(SG) have been prepared considering 3 years residency requirement. However, two increments that have become due as bunching benefit from 13260 to14520 are forfieted in the fitment table. Bunching benefits are given after one reaches Rs 14940 stage. This has been done perhaps to maintain the disparity between Associate professors and Professors.
Note: Revised Pay band in Table H is Rs 37400-67000 with AGP of Rs 8700. It has been mistakenly written as Rs 15600-39100. It should be read as Rs 37400-67000.

Dear All,
I joined in a central University directly as Reader in November 2006 after working as postdoctoral researcher in one of world's top 3 university for 6 years. There was only a single post of Reader and it was given to me. Later my University advertised again another post of Reader and a person joined in November 2008. This person was already a Reader in a state run degree collge since May 2005 and was also appeared in the same selection committee in which I got selected and he got rejected. The University has given him the seniority in Readers from the date he joined my university. Now, as far as I understand, he will get associate professorship before me and as a result will become senior to me. Can anybody clarify this?
Dear Crusador and all,
Congratulations for the release of long awaited fitment table. Can any one guide me. I join the service as asistant prof. with M.Phil on 5-1-1995 got selection grade on 6-1-2005 complete three years in selection grade on 5-1-2008, what will be my pay band and what is my basic pay as on today.
Thanks
Why table-C have been dragged so long, it should be stopped at 12840 itself?
Any comments or the idea of behind the scenes conspiracy by MHRD / UGC.
Bose:
It is required to fix the pay of Readers who are at 15,000+ or 18,000+ as on 1 jan 2006 and has not completed 3 years. This happens in cases where people get 10 or 12 increments while joining as Reader.
Dear Bosco Sir

dear DK, ICAR has already implemented UGC pay scales based on MHRD notification and provisionally fixed pay of scientists. ICAR was waiting for fitment tables. Now fitment tables are released, ICAR will issue a separate notification for final pay fixation of its scientists.
Dear Crusador
The teachers those with doctoral degree are given two increments in the old scale.KIndly tell whether it should be accounted for the fixation of pay or only numbers of years completed in the particular scale is alone taken in to account for the fixation of pay .
Dear Crusador,
Is this also the pay scale for directly recruited professor and associate professor? MHRD notification of Dec 08 said something else. Please comment
Dear Ars Sir,
pay does not matter for fixation purposes if residency conditions are used. point to point fixation on 1-1-2006 is done from the fitment tables if the residency requirement is met equal or more on 1-1-2006.
Dear ars, fitment table takes int account both the advance increments as well as residency requirement. Revised pay in pay band changes after one reaches at 14940.
Dear SBP, the language of forwarding letter shows that these tables are applicable to both CAS and directly recruited assoc/professor as these are applicable to all those who were in positions (incumbant) on 1.1.2006.
Dear Crusador,
thank you verymuch

Will someone help me in determinig if my pension will be fixed at the minimum of Pay Band 4, including AGP, or in Pay Band 3 with appropriate AGP?
I was selected as Reader in NCERT in September 1974, through open advertisement. I had been in the employ of NCERT since January 1961 and was a Lecturer before being selected as Reader.
I took Voluntary Retirement effective 23rd November, 1987
Also, should we expect Fitment Tables for pensioners? If not, do recommendations of the Sixth Pay Commission provide any formula for fixation of Pension?

The fact that the UGC Pay report approved by the Government does not incorporate the fitment table is strange and defies all logic. It is still more puzzling how the Teachers Unions have not pointed out this glaring blunder in a report. While the employees of the Central Government could have their first instalment of arrears, the UGC is yet to present a fulfledged report enabling the UGC teachers enjoy the new package, even after a lapse of six months.
Even more puzzling is the fact that the MHRD has introduced a strange philosophy of applying an illogical principle of classifying the Readers/Associate Professors into (a) those who have completed 3 years of service and (b) those who have not competed 3 years of service in the cadre as on 01.01.2006. No Pay Commissions have in the past made such a wonderful(!) classification, as adopted above, and thus depriving a just and equitable treatment to this hapless cadre “Readers/Associate Professors” which is the middle position between Lecturer and Professor. It is imperative on the part of the Government to set right this anomaly and do justice to this important cadre among UGC teachers.
Indifference in this regard will only complicate the matters resulting in discrimination and injustice meted out to this cadre.
Let the UGC, the MHRD and Government act and rectify the blunder committed.
College lecturers should have obtained their UG,PG and M.Phil. degrees as a regular student. Degrees bought through correspondence and by distance education should not be recognised for UGC pay scales. In Arts, cross major is a serious problem; it has to be studied by a commission. Some cross major PGs are teaching UG subjects that they did not study.
I have got selection scale on march 2006. When I will get PB IV. Any T & C, i.e. API/WP and PASS methodology ?
Dear Crusador,
The UGC notification says that the directly recruited
Professor would be fixed minimum at 43000/- in PB4.
Strangely, there is no separate fitment table provided in this regard.
Can any body suggest as to how the BP of directly recruited Professors is to be fixed
