US Military Survival

Survival skills, gear and equipment are essential for any military, and the United States military is certainly no different. The US Military has long made survival gear and training a priority. Each branch of the US Military uses some of the world's best survival gear to ensure that every soldier or sailor is prepared to do their job under any conditions.


US Military Issue Survival Kits

When it comes to gear such as knives and survival kits, it can be tough to come up with a list of military issued gear. The gear used and/or issued can vary from unit to unit and even from person to person.Here are some of the survival kits in use by various branches and units of the US Military, though:

Combat Survival Tin - used by US Marines, US Air Force. National Stock Number 8456-99-126-6980.

Military Survival Tin - used by US Infantry units. National Stock Number 8645-99-147-7134.

Special Forces Survival Kit - used by US Coast Guard, Us Army. National Stock Number 4220-99-138-8693.

USAF Aircrew Survival Kit - used by the US Air Force. National Stock Number 8465-99-270-7742.
