USMC Drill Instructors

USMC Drill Instructors are without a doubt some of the most proffessional Marines you will find on this planet. You may ask just about anyone in the Marine corps if they remember their Drill Instructors and you sure will get a grin and names right away. Drill Instructors are etched in every Marine memory, the funny thing is we were called maggots, worthless, slow, made fun of, we were pushed to our limits and beyond and the fact is we thank our Marine Drill Instructors for being so hard on us because at the end of the day they were always with us making sure the Marine Corps received a well trained Marine ready for anything the US would send him/her to.

Marine Corps Drill Instructors are the reflection of perfection. I do not remember anything wrong with my Drill Instructors. Unless you call a grin once every month something wrong.  USMC Drill Instructors reminded you of the perfect Marine with no flaws and it was a true honor to be able to taught by them.

Who Becomes a Drill Instructor and Why?

Anyone on Active Duty can become a USMC Drill Instructor. The truth is not every Marine wants to and the reason is simple, being a Drill Instructor is a lifestyle within a lifestyle. Imagine being a Marine is hard; well being a Drill Instructor is triple as hard. In order to become a Drill Instructor a Marine must pass a very detailed screening which includes being able to be in top physical shape, medically fit, financially responsible, and many other aspects that will qulaify a Marine to become a Drill Instructor. Once a Marine is qualified then he or she will go to DI school in san Diego California if I am correct this is the only location for Drill Instructor school. The school is as long as Marine Corps Boot Camp, physically and mentally demanding where a Marine must learn how to properly teach an average person which in many instances can be someone out of their parents house for the first time, or someone doing it to get out of the streets, many scenarios can be written but the goal of a Marine Drill Instructor is to get a platoon of average people and get them all to act as a proficient Marine platoon ready to defend the Constitution of the United States of America either in Iraq, Afghanistan, any US embassy in the world, or at any US Marine Corps base in the continental United States. It is a very big responsability for someone to train these recruits for three months and shape them to be United States Marines who will follow the traditions and who must live up to the reputation and high standards of the Marine Corps.

Drill Instructors in Action

Inspiration All the Way

USMC Drill Instructors are an inspiration at all times. These are the Marines who will never under any circumstance will give up on a recruit. Recruits will be pushed to their physical and mental limits and beyond; Drill Instructors know that the Future of the Marine Corps rely on their shoulders to make sure Marines continue the long tradition of being the best of the best. USMC Drill Instructors will always be my inspiration to know Marines must always strive for perfection, we may never get it but at least we know we strive for it. Marine Corps drill instructors in our memories are the reflection of perfection. OOOORAH Semper FI.

DI Tribute

USMC Drill Instructor Creed

"These recruits are entrusted to my care. I will train them to the best of my ability. I will develop them into smartly disciplined, physically fit, basically trained marines, thoroughly indoctrinated in love of the Corps and country. I will demand of them and demonstrate by my own example, the highest standards of personal conduct, morality and professional skill."
