The whole purpose of this "Ultimate Belly Dancing Guide" is to explain belly dancing and offer resources for beginners who are interested in belly dancing and share some advanced resources for non-beginners. I hope the information I offer will help you in some way.

How to Belly Dance
It used to be hard to find an instructor to learn belly dancing from. But nowadays, even in very small towns you might find a belly dance instructor, or a gym that offers belly dancing classes. Definitely, your best option to learn belly dancing is from a knowledable belly dance instructor.
A teacher can work with you and make sure you are executing a move correctly. If you are doing something wrong, you can ask your teacher to show the right form to you. It is always nice to have someone in front of you demonstrating the movement. But let's face it, this is not always feasible. If you don't have a chance to learn belly dancing from an instructor, you might want to check out these options:

I actually practice belly dancing, I love it, I try to do it at least twice a week. I find it better than any other form of excercise (apart from Pilates). As an added bonus you ca pick some of the steps for when you are clubbing!!!

Good hub and very interesting. Makes me want to learn how to belly dance, but I am not very good at dancing, so I enjoy to watch others do it.
Hi Jenn, love your hub-belly dancing. On the odd occassion in the nightclub I have tried this, often getting a positive response, not sure if it is the dancing they're admiring.

Belly dancing is amazing, and some of the videos you've posted up looks really good. I guess shakira brought belly dancing the media attention it needed [in the west] and the rest is history.
