What would you think about a headline that read: "Federal government and state governments holding unclaimed monies totaling $50 BILLION+ owed to Americans"? Sound like a conspiracy theory? Nope, this is a fact. There are millions of people owed BILLIONS in unclaimed monies being held by the government. So, the real question is how much is owed to you?

To find out all you have to do is search for it and claim it. An unclaimed monies search is conducted by entering your name

State database search vs. All-in-one database search

The database used to conduct your unclaimed money search is key to a successful search that finds unclaimed monies owed to you.

A state search is not necessarily the best option for your lost money search.

An "all-in-one" database is usually the better choice. An all-in-one database has money from all 50 states and federal databases. A state database will only have money from one state. An "all-in-one" government database does not exist.

It is important to note that it is very likely that you have unclaimed monies reported in a state database that is not the state you live in. This is especially true with inheritance or companies or institutions that you conducted business with outside of your state of residence.

A state only search is an incomplete unclaimed monies search and will not always find the lost money owed to you.

Conduct a Thorough Search in an Unclaimed Monies Database

To search for unclaimed monies all you have to do is enter you legal name into the search field.

To search for unclaimed monies all you have to do is enter you legal name into the search field.

Don't forget to search nick names or variations on your legal name and any alias's you have used.

It is quite common for unclaimed accounts to be listed under a name that is not an exact match to your legal name.

They may be reported using a first initial and last name, nick name, etc.

For example: Thomas Cruise Mapother IV may be listed as Thomas Cruise, Tom Cruise or T. Cruise.

A quality unclaimed monies database will automatically search for variations of your common legal name, just as cashunclaimed.com and usunclaimed.com do.

If you find unclaimed monies reported as owed to your name filter through the accounts and check to see if they are reported with information that shows it is truly your account such as a past or present address reported on the account.

Getting your Unclaimed Monies Check

Unclaimed monies you find as owed to you are being held by a state or federal agency. You will need to get the claim form required by that state or federal agency.
