Do you think your spouse may be paying frequent 'housecalls' to someone... and your spouse isn't even a doctor?

If you suspect your dearly beloved of cheating, chances are they are. Instinct is a powerful bloodhound when it comes to infidelity.

But if you ask friends and family about it, they will normally tell you that you have been watching too many episodes of The Guiding Light or if you are in the UK--Coronation Street. In other words, they won't believe you.

But unless you have "control" issues - that is, an inordinate wish to control another person - then you should probably trust your instincts.

It is true that those who suffer 'control' issues, often are victims of low self-esteem and may have insecurity issues looming as well. In addition, many people who are so-called "control freaks" are often the first to depart from a marriage, and their own concerns about a spouse are often the consequence of a guilty conscience themselves.

Very often, when a spouse starts to suspect the partner is cheating, it is simply because they have detected some secretive activities or monetary inconsistencies.

If your hubby is going out with the guys or your wife is 'lunching' with the girls, but in neither case are the 'guys' or 'gals' identified by specific names, then chances are that there is an activity that they are doing their to 'remove the from the radar-screen' of your notice. 

Let's say you question them for details but those are not forthcoming, or obviously being 'fudged' then there is something afoot most likely. A cheater will know that their friends are not going to take kindly to idea of lying for them, so he never tells you that he is going out with Sam or Dan, and she will never admit that she is going out with Eve or Martha.

When asked 'just where he is going', he might proffer the tidbit that he is going to shoot pool, but he is not likely to say where he is planning to shoot pool. She might say that she is going to a bookclub with the gals, but she will probably not say where that club is meeting.

Why are these little facts and details omitted by the culprit? Obviously if they provide details about an activity, then you might check up on the story and trap them in a lie. A partner committed to a relationship is not concerned with secretive activities.

Another big tip-off is the bank account.

But with all suspicions, you must be careful when you get ready for accusations. I once suspected a partner of spending too much money from our joint account in one month and later discovered he had bought me a Valentine's Day gift of a diamond bracelet. I felt foolish for the mis-laid accusation and eventually it led to our break-up, so you need to be scrupulous when it comes to checking these things out.

The big thing to watch for are monetary habit-changes. It is essential to pay attention to changes in how money is spent. If they are suddenly spending more money than they usually do at places where money has rarely if ever been laid out before, then something may be going on. If they are using cash and not credit, it can be a little more tricky to find the money-trail. If you have an idea of how much dough your spouse normally carries, you may be able to check the wallet for dramatic changes.

Again, this is a question of intuition is many cases, and you need to trust yourself when you are having feelings of suspicion, as they rarely come 100% pre-fabricated from your imagination.

 Provided you can afford it,  you might be able to look into  GPS tracking tools.  These can be hidden inside  your partner's car, and with modern technology, you will be able to monitor that cheater with internet tools. 

Search Google for "spy tools" to see the incredible products that you could employ to track the cheating spouse with gadgetry.  

Another idea is to hire a private investigator to find  the evidence of a cheating sneak. 

Remember to employ caution, and don't accuse until you have the cat in the bag and the facts line up.   Having a cheating spouse will always aid the judge in a court to empathize with your side, but  you need proof. So it is important to get proof, before that cheating partner even suspects  that you are suspicious.  

You need to be as secretive in gathering your evidence as they are in plotting their infidelities!
