Having a sweaty underarm is a common problem of adults. It provides visual and sometimes nasal embarrassment to the sufferer. Now, sweating in itself is a normal activity of the body. The body sweats to regulate body temperature from humidity and rigorous activity. The bad thins is if you sweat excessively. The cause of over sweating is not because you have too many sweat glands in your body. It is because of a nerve malfunction sending signals to your sweat glands to sweat profusely.

The two types of sweat glands are apoccrine and eccrine glands.

Now excessive sweating in the armpit or underarm is a common problem. This is partly because of one's genetics.

How can we control over sweating underarms? You have probably tried using all the commercial antiperspirants endorsed by your favorite celebrities. When you've tried it, you discovered that the antiperspirant has no effect. When choosing antiperspirant, choose one with aluminum chloride as active ingredient. This chemical effectively blocks the sweat production of sweat glands.

Even if you are controlling your diet, that is not a 100% solution in eradicating over sweating. It will help in reducing the sweating though. Spicy foods affect the odor of your sweat in an embarrassing way.

There is also Botox which is openly accepted in the market today and is FDA-approved. However, the effect is only for a short time and also expensive. It is important to not that Botox is a poison and injecting even small amounts in the body will produce side effect in the long run.

For last resort in addressing over sweating, you can try surgery. Some surgeries cut the nerves that communicate with the sweat glands. Some surgeries involve taking the sweat glands from the body. Underarm surgeries are expensive. Again, try surgery if you have tried the above suggestions first.
