Here by psychology I mean understanding the mind. When a reader like you who is taking pain to read this hub, what is that which you are seeking. Now if I am a saint who has overcome all his desires then I will not be here. I may go to Himalayas. But I also have some desires. Perhaps I want to sell you anything. May be it may not be a physical item but just a concept.

Now if I want to attract more traffic to my hubs I must understand the minds of my readers.That is Psychology of Internet Surfers. I have many friends who are always logged on to their computers. They have become addicted to googling. Strictly speaking this is an obsession of mind. All of us are trained to to learn the importance of knowledge. "Information is money" is printed on our subconscious mind-since childhood. This desire to know becomes a compulsion of mind and people like you and me come to a state where craving for googling with any or all search-engines becomes becomes a compulsive, obsessive neurotic disorder.

Perhaps we may not make money or even may be paying more to our ISPs. But deep down in our hearts there is a notion that some day we will make big money.

For example Liquidity crisis and the measures taken by Reserve Bank or SEBI may lead to many investing public to worry. Now if you correlate your hub article with current monetary situation many desperate readers may come to your pages.

The use of this Psychology or Power of understanding other peoples' mind can be used positively or negatively. See at TV or other media advertisement. They are all exploiting the feelings of their audiences. In-fact this has become a science in itself. Emotional Intelligence or Spiritual Quotients including religious feeling are used by politicians to serve their vested interests.

So the best use of this Psychology is two -fold. One to make people aware that how evil is exploiting their feelings or thinking to serve its end and two to be aware ourselves so that we do not get trapped in it ourselves.
