Alright, let's be completely honest here. Abs are very important to people, but most the time it seems that getting great abs is more of a dream for people rather than reality. Why is that? Why can't we achieve something that we dream of having? How can we make our dream of having flat and defined abs a reality? First we need to understand how our body works and how we can train our body and our habits to live a healthier life and get incredible abs.
If you want Abs that look great, we need to start eating healthier. Americans have about 30 billion fat cells, each fat cell is filled with a substance called lipids. Unfortunately we live in a country where some of the best and greasiest foods exist, and when we consume those delicious foods over and over again (because we lack self control), we end up exploding our fat cells. Fat cells can expand to 1,000 times there original size. Imagine that!! 30 billion fat cells expanding to 1000 times there size. The worst part is, when a fat cell reaches its limit it has a baby(another fat cell). So it quickly multiplies and once you get fat cells you are stuck with them, they never go away. That is why it is so hard to get rid of fat around your mid-section, because you are fighting an up hill battle, and that is why it is so important to watch what we are eating. We as americans need to start making it easier on ourselves, we need to put away the unhealthy foods and start working out are bodies.

For some reason we do not care enough about our bodies to commit to some type of health plan and workout plan, but if we knew some of the benefits maybe we would feel a little more motivated to have a healthy mid-section. There are many benefits that we are missing out on because we decided to be lazy instead of being proactive in our approach to great abs. First of all, healthy abs can help you live longer. One of the main causes to heart disease is mid-section weight, people who have waists over 35 inches, are more likely to get heart disease, and the more that you become overweight, the more likely you can have a heart attack. Another disease that is sweeping the nation is Diabetes. Diabetes used to just show up with overweight older people, but now it is pretty much the epidemic of american youth. Not only are adults getting diabetes, but now their children are to, because of the bad habits that have been passed down. Another problem that comes with being overweight is sleep apnea, which limits your sleep at night, so you are always tired and grumpy.
Abs can help improve your love life, we all want better sex. This will probably be the main reason why people want to get better abs. If you got rid of that belly, you would have more stamina, which means you will last longer, and be in better shape to do more positions. For guys, you will have better erections, those doughnuts and cheeseburgers are not just clogging your arteries to your heart, they are also causing less blood to flow down to your male member, which is the cause of a lot of erectile dysfunctions. No guy wants dysfunctions down there!!
Many people complain about back problems, one of the main causes for that is because your back is supporting the belly that is hanging off the front. So healthy abs can help you with your back pain. It's weird to think that we could get rid of all these problems in our lives if we just took a little time to get in shape.
