Internet Explorer 7 has some good features such as tabled browsing, a revised interface, a phishing filter and improved printing amongst others. However in the time it took Microsoft to release it, other browsers such as Firefox and Opera have come out with similar and better features and many users have started moving to these browsers.

With IE7, instead of offering it as an optional download, it comes via Window Update. Which mean that you may one day wake up and find that you have a brand new browser instead on IE6. This may be fine for some people but many may find using IE7 a little different and more difficult. For those who want to keep the older version of Internet Explorer, here is a way to prevent IE7 from installing.

1) Close IE and any other open windows.

2)Click on Start, then contol panel.

3) Double click Add/Remove programs.

4) Scroll down the list and find Internet Explorer 7.

5) If you cannot find it listed, click the show updates checkbox on the top to reveal it.

6)Proceed with removal by clickingthe Change/remove button.

If IE& was downloaded, follow the following procedure to prevent it from downloading again.

1) Open internet explorer and go to

http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com r click on Start ad click on Windows update.

2) When the update page opens up , click Custom.

3)Uncheck the box for Internet Explorer 7.

4) Check the box for dont show this update again.

Now IE7 wont install automatically and you can contine to use any other browser you want
