Unusual Wedding Gowns
Everybody thinks of a typical long, white, strapless gown when they think of wedding dresses. But I am here to tell you that there are many, many variations on the average wedding gown. Girls, this is supposed to be the happiest day of your life, so find the wedding dress that best fits your personality and your desires, and look like the princess/rock star/fairy/model/whatever else that you feel inside on your big day. Good luck!

Wedding Dresses with Color
Wedding dresses don't have to be plain, virginal wide. Gowns with color accents, or even in a color besides white entirely, are especially popular with older brides and women who are getting married for the second time. Young women are also choosing this option though, especially because snow white is not the ideal color for women with pale skin.
Ivory wedding dresses are a richer, darker color than normal white, while still being a traditional enough color to avoid stares or surprise. They may be a good middle ground option if you want a color that will be more flattering on you while still avoiding getting grief from the your future mother-in-law over your choice of dress.
Or, if you want to be really shocking, you should consider a black wedding dress. This dress color is usually only braved by the most experienced of dress designers, and you will probably have to pay significantly more for a stunning black wedding dress, but they are definitely out there. This is an option for the truly bold and brave brides out there.
Fairy Wedding Dresses
A fairly recent style in wedding dresses is the "fairy" wedding gowns, which are usually colorful, unique, delicate designs meant to convey an air of magic and fantasy in a wedding dress. They are usually made with tulle, and many have a rare beauty not found in traditional wedding dress styles.
Fairy wedding dresses can be as traditional or unusual-looking as you desire. They can just involve a little color and tulle, or you can wear full-sized fairy wings and a brightly-colored dress. In any form, however, a good fairy wedding dress is lovely.
Medieval Wedding Dresses
Many people have a strong interest in the European Middle Ages era, in everything from dress to events to items that a typical Middle-ager might own. Renaissance fairs are held at many major cities around the United States, and this is a passion for many people that they want to make a big part of their lives, including their wedding day.
Medieval wedding dresses range from traditional white, silky dresses with a few differences from a modern wedding dresses, to brightly colored gowns created in the styles of various periods and countries. Many have tightly laced corset bodices and flowing fabric from the waist down, but not all. Some designers create only Medieval wedding dresses, and some have it as an option among their more traditional wedding gowns.
For many Medieval weddings, it is just the bride who wears a Middle Ages gown, while the groom and guests sport tuxedos or formal dresses. Sometimes, however, the entire group gets in on the fun, with evering wearing medieval era appropriate clothes, even the wedding guests!
More Ideas for Unique Wedding Dresses
Remember that the wedding is supposed to be a day of happiness for the bride and groom, and not to make a decision about your wedding to ever please anyone else. Your mother may think your dress decision odd or weird, but guess what, she won't miss her daughter's wedding because she doesn't like the dress. In conclusion, choose the dress that makes you happy, even if it is a little different from the normal. Have a beautiful wedding!

Was just wondering if anyone knows where or how I can get hold of the Fairy Wedding Dress with Fairy Wings? Or where the picture came from?
I have always wanted my wedding dress to be different :) white is boring! I love the idea of having a bit of pink too. Neat pics!
I like the wedding dresses that just have the hint of color with the sash or the color peeking out from under the dress. I don't think I could do anything like the wedding dress with fairy wings.
love the different styles! especially the ones with just a splash of color!
Gasp! Those two ivory dresses are sooo stunning - I want to get married again xx
