Everybody has them ... around their necks, in their homes, cars, and even tattooed on their flesh (even I do), however most refer this symbol with the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. Prior to this, the cross was used to torture and kill those insubordinate to the European conquest and the enemies of the 'church', such as myself. Now lets put this into perspective ..... what if Jesus were hung from a tree, would we wear trees around our necks, or would we wear guns and bullets if Jesus were shot? Or how about an electric chair tattoo on our backs to symbolize the pain and torture Jesus went thru? We unconsciously accept that Jesus was executed but most of us disagree with capital punishment.
